New TMNT Movie Coming

The original comic was in a way a parody...and very violent. So none of the movies really were true to the comic in that aspect.

Maybe, but expecting an all out gore fest from TMNT, especially nowadays, that's a pipe dream. I don't follow the turtles comics, but I read the first issues the first movie is based on. Seemed to capture the spirit of the comic to me.

I never said I did expect it to be like the comic. Just stating the fact that it wasn't really.

They could pull off a PG-13 and still make it for the kids at the same time. There are a lot of PG-13 films out there that almost seem like they should be rated PG but little things put it over the top and it's thrown into the 13 category (i.e. a little violence and/or swearing). Even if it's not suitable, they will market it that way anyways (that I know of, the X-men, Spider-man, and Batman films and even most recently Star Trek and X-men Origins: Wolverine all have had "kiddie" tv spots that air on kid channels)

But... the first movie had violence and swearing. The movie you're describing was already made, and under a PG rating. And again, it was true to the source material, as well as the cartoon.

Well, of course it had violence, but not to a degree that would warrant a PG-13 rating obviously. And I think the worst swear word used in the first film was "damn".

Please, go watch the movie, then watch the 90s toon. Outside of a few jokes here and there in the movie, they are nothing alike, complete polar opposites actually.

And go read the original comic while your at it, as you don't seem to understand what the original source material was about.

Also, just for the record, I'm not one of those people who are like "ZomG maKe teh TurtleZ more MATURE!!1", but I do think it could be pulled off if done carefully. The first film was a decent attempt though compared to the toon at the time.

It inherited some of the personality traits of the characters as well as the multi-colored masks. Don't forget the pizza. The movie was an amalgamation of the comic and cartoon, and tried and please everyone. It actually worked.

Batman Begins was inspired by Batman Year One. X2 was inspired by the story "God Loves, Man Kills." However if you read the stories then watch the movies, you will only see tiny similarities in regards to the overall plot. My point is that little things here and there taken from the source does not mean it's a direct adaptation of it.

That guys an idiot. I love how if something isn't exactly how someone remembered it as a kid it suddenly = crap. He obviously hasn't followed the Turtles throughout the years and can't seem to grasp that it's been introduced to a new audience of children who, likely, know more about them then he thinks he does. He wants an explanation and back story for every single thing in the film, yet if we did the movie would be incredibly long. Who needs an extensive back story for the Turtles themselves anyways? Everyone knows who the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles are.
