NBA 2014-2015 Season Discussion Thread

The losses keep piling up for the Spurs. I hope they keep on losing because the Western Conference is so competitive that each lost will keep them buried in the 6th to 8th seed range or worst. I'm very shocked the Durant-less Thunder were able to beat them especially since they were the road team. The world was wondering how Westbrook would lead this team without Durant and I would say he's doing a great job. His stats are amazing.

The Cavaliers are just one mess of a team. Some nights, they look like they got it. But against the Heat, they didn't. The Heat have been losing games to crappy teams so this win against the Cavs does not make sense to me at all. Not much to say about the other games besides the fact that the Knicks suck. Bulls beat the Lakers with ease and the Clippers snapped their losing streak against the Warriors.

That was a big whooping the Kings took in Boston. I'm disgusted with this team lately. I stopped caring to watch their games after they kept losing close games while Cousins was out. Then Mike Malone got fired out of nowhere and now Ty Corbin is the new Coach (interim tag is now gone) who I hated when he was Jazz Coach. Cousins has been calm and cool so far this season until today when he picked up two technical fouls and got ejected. Disappointing.

Speaking of getting ejected, Russell Westbrook did the same thing after getting two technical fouls in the high scoring fest against the Suns. Westbrook's 2nd technical was lame as he was just pumped up after getting the "and one." But have no fear, Kevin Durant was back and he was a beast among beasts. It was refreshing to see him back. Also, fun game. Poor Pelicans. They had the Spurs beat in regulation but Omer Asik accidentally tipped in the game-tying bucket for the Spurs. Talk about bad luck.

And so the Clippers crush the Sixers here at Staples Center. Clips may have had struggles lately against the Raptors and the Hawks, but it's a good win, beat the teams they're expected to beat.

On the flip side, The Sixers are definitely scrapping, but they're a team that definitely needs talent in a bad way.

The bleeding won't end for the New York Knicks. That's 14 straight losses after getting spanked at home to the Rockets. Fans are now wearing paper bags of shame for their once proud franchise. I don't blame them as the losing is going to continue for the rest of the season. I'm glad Phil Jackson has thrown in the towel and will seriously rebuild this team. There's still much work to be done but at least he knows it has to start asap.

One team that seriously needs to do that is the Lakers. This season is not going anywhere for them as the West is too tough to win. The roster has a lot of holes it still needs to fill. Jordan Hill has been inconsistent, can't win with Boozer and the rest of the positions are still weak. To see the team play tough without Kobe was another indicator of how life can be without Kobe. Rebuild with draft picks.

George Karl has been hired as the new Coach of the Kings. I have no idea what to make of it. There was potential with Mike Malone. I think Karl won't be able to do much with the 30 games left of this season. The Kings need to get some legit bench players. And a serious 3-point shooter.

I think the Kings might've been too hasty. Though given how well they were doing earlier this season I think they feel that they are a playoff caliber team, what with the Gay-Cousins tandem, plus the addition of Darren Collison, that's supposed to scare even the Warriors. Malone prolly wasn't cutting it at this point.

It's just the delusions of the front office thinking they have a Playoff Caliber team. They never had one. They also never had the right personnel to fit the system they wanted. Mike Malone's system was fine and it was working. He was trying to emphasis the team to play tough defense and to close out opponents to win. It was working and it sucked that Cousins caught viral meningitis back in December. It seemed to cause this whole domino effect we are seeing now. But yeah, I liked Malone and wish he was given more time. The Kings lame front office had to get in the way.
