NBA 2013-2014 Season Discussion Thread

Anyone been paying attention to the pre-season lately? Derrick Rose has been looking good and there seems to be no sign of his injury anymore. Can't wait to see the Bulls play the Heat on opening night. The Lakers are going to struggle early until Kobe Bryant comes back too. Who's going to be their starting SG and SF? Nick Young and Wesley Johnson? The Rockets are going to be a team to pay attention to as well. I just dont know how the core of Harden, Howard, Lin and Parsons is going to work. They all are going to want the ball.

Here We Stay! With Shaquille O'Neal at ringside to watch his new minority-owned team play, the Kings had an exciting game against the Nuggets. Demarcus Cousins, who Shaq will mentor now, had a beastly game. This is the Demarcus the Kings will need if they want to climb up the rankings. And it looks like Isaiah Thomas is now the 6th man of the team. He's awesome either way since he's an offensive spark plug. Glad the Kings got the win in front of an electrified crowd.

Poor Jeremy Lin is relegated to the bench for the Rockets now. Wonder how he feels about it. Either way, he had a better game off the bench over the starter in Patrick Beverly. Lin looks much improved this year already. The Center who left LA had a beastly game himself. Where was this last year?

Speaking of LA, not much to say about their loss to the Warriors. The Warriors were on fire all game long. Klay Thompson had a huge night. Good lord this team is exciting to watch.

Numbers down because of Health issues, I guess.

But...I think Lin coming off the bench may be better, especially down the line. As I've said before, Lin plays a lot like Russell Westbrook, so him coming off the bench is a lot like Jamal Crawford coming off the bench for the Clippers -- he fills a scoring need for when Dwight and/or Harden get cold...or go to the bench.

ESPN Analysts: AGAINST THE CHARLOTTE BOBCATS!!!

Lol...

Dwight Howard made his return to Los Angeles and he was met with boos. Lol...It wasn't quite the game he expected either. He got into early foul trouble and Chris Paul and the Clippers just had their way on the Rockets. I swear, CP3 makes the game look easy at times with his vision and passing. Out of nowhere he will just lob the ball for Griffin or Jordan to dunk. So fun to watch. But I thought Doc Rivers said there was no more lob city. Weird. Poor Linsanity had to guard CP3. It was not a good game for the Rockets. The former Kings draft pick Omri Casspi was the lone bright spot.

The Warriors made toast of the undefeated Sixers in Philly. Boy did Iguodala have a great homecoming. He was making it rain with his threes and filled up the stat sheet. I know the season just started but I won't be surprised if this is Iggy's best game of the year. The Warriors have too many playmakers to worry about.

I thought it was Blake Griffin that said "no more Lob City" LOL

But...I think it's that the emphasis is more on defense now...but Lob City is the Clippers' calling card. At least this squad with Griffin, DeAndre Jordan, and Chris Paul.

"Lob City" reminds me of the Sacramento Kings during the late 90s - early 2000s consisting of C-Webb, J-Will, Vlade before the whole J-Will/Bibby trade.

Tonight's game was just...terrible. Clippers were just way too lax with the Magic tonight.

Makes me wish Vinny Del Negro was still our coach. LOL

Now that, I can agree with. :castlerock:

Hack-a-Dwight! That strategy worked for the Lakers in tonight's duel against the Rockets. The Lakers lead most of the game, then the Rockets took the lead and I thought they were going to pull away. But of course, the Lakers had to hack away at Dwight and he missed a lot of his free-throws. Good lord Dwight. Seems like nothing has changed. Steve Blake with the huge game-winning three. That was nice. I admit.

The Heat won a hard fought battle against the Clippers. Lebron didn't have a good game as it was the Dwayne Wade show mostly. Deandre Jordan has impressed me a lot so far too. But he still sucks at free-throws like Dwight.
