NBA 2012/13 Season Discussion Thread

^^The All-Star vote is basically a popularity contest. Dwight doesn't deserve to be a starter in the all-star game, LaMarcus Aldrige is better.

Fucking Jeremy Lin almost made the all-star team...thank goodness he didn't

Why so much dislike for Linsanity, MMPR? :P

Anyway....I agree with you in that the fans vote for the most popular guy, rather than the guy most fitting. Dwight has not had a stellar year, yet there he is. Duncan and Marc Gasol are having a better year.

Yeah I really dont think Dwight Howard should be the starter on the West team. The Lakers shouldn't have more than 1 All-Star because the team is horrible. But of course, it's a popularity contest so it has to be Kobe and Dwight. Since we are talking about reserves, I do believe Duncan or Marc Gasol should make the team. They deserve it especially Duncan since he's still producing at a high level with his age. For the East, I think Tyson Chandler or Brook Lopez should get in. They hella need size as Garnett is the only guy over 6'10 on the team.

In what was perhaps the most exciting game of the night, the Rockets/Warriors was the one to see. Although it ended in a blowout, the Rockets tied the NBA record for most 3-pointers in a game. The funny thing was that the Warriors were cock-blocking the Rockets from breaking the record in the last 3 minutes of the game. Lol...Each time they got the ball, automatic foul. Felt like playing NBA 2K13 when you make the AI do intentional foul. Linsanity was back and he had a huge game against his former team. Had a career high five 3-pointers himself. More of this Linsanity please! The rematch will happen next week and it's already got a lot of storylines built for it.

Kobe Bryant had a sick dunk over Gerald Wallace and that guy who was married to Kim Kardashian. Looks like the Lakers are finding their rhythm and a rotation now. I still don't think Pau Gasol can co-exist with Howard though. One of them has to go next season. But yeah, the Lakers are going to make the race for the 8th spot in the West interesting as the Rockets are currently 8th.

I really think that they should axe Dwight instead of Pau, especially if Kobe is determined to win at least one more ring before he retires. Let go of this season, and go shopping next season for solid role players to surround Kobe and Pau so that they could continue to squeeze mileage out of Mamba, who seems to have a secret stash of the elixir of youth hidden somewhere in his locker.

EDIT:

I must have fallen asleep, because all of a sudden, Denver has leapfrogged their way to the 4th seed on Kenneth Faried's piston-powered legs. I mean...Seriously, gaiz...O_o

Well, the rematch between the Warriors and Rockets didnt go well for the Warriors. They couldn't stop the Rockets as Harden and Linsanity were still able to have good games against them. Lin didn't shoot so well but he was still making plays. This was a good performance since he returns to play close to home.

The Kings couldn't beat the Grizzlies on the road but at least they were competitive for about 3 quarters. Lol...More of this effort on the road is acceptable. Not get whooped by 30 points like on their last road trip.

Lebron James just continues to play like a monster. He barely misses his shots right now and that is scary. I'm sure it won't stay like that for a long time but for now, it is impressive. About those Lakers, they beat the Suns but it wasn't pretty. Kobe had probably one of the worst shooting nights in his career or something. Only 4 points but 9 assists. Is this how much he has to sacrifice to cheer up that one guy who plays Center for them? Yikes.

My man Terrence Ross should be in the Rising Stars game on Friday, he got robbed because he plays in Toronto

There has been a trade. Sacramento and Houston love to be trade partners with each other and this time, it involved six players.

Sacramento receives:
Patrick Patterson, F
Cole Aldrich, C
Toney Douglas, G
$1 million cash

Houston receives:
Thomas Robinson, F
Francisco Garcia, F
Tyler Honeycutt, F

I actually think it was a waste to draft Thomas Robinson back in June! Why did we get him when we should've drafted Harrison Barnes. There was a bigger need at SF than PF. This trade disappoints me. But hey, we will see how it works out. I will be pissed if Robinson becomes a beast in the future though. It will just show how awful we are at developing players.

About Wednesday's games, nice to see James Harden have a career day to beat his old team. Now that's what you call clutch with his scoring and Lin's three-point shooting. The Lakers took care of the Celtics and it was a huge win for them. But I don't like to see how much Kobe has to sacrifice just to please their Center. The experiment is not gonna work. It sucks to see Kobe score less than 20 points per game too by the way.

"Seattle Supersonics" here we come.:redface2:

Then again...beats being named "Pelicans"...

Still...this Kings team makes the Bobcats look good...heck, it makes the late 80s-early 90s Kings Teams look good. I know Sacto has better effort than that.:redface2:
