MTV's STEVIE AND ZOYA (1987)

Here is the complete run of MTV's first original animated series, Stevie and Zoya, made in 1987. This is one of my favorite cartoon shows EVER!!! It's an animated serial about a young skateboarder vigilante Stevie Washington and his female secret agent sidekick Zoya, who fight to protect New Yorkx, NY, from the evil forces of the criminal mastermind Warlock. Really wild animation and design, sort of like Beat Generation meets 80s New Wave!

The narrator is none other than Russell Johnson (The Professor of Gilligan's Island).

Also of major interest to tokusatsu fans is the cartoon's frequent use of music from various Toho Tokusatsu Eiga, including Son of Godzilla, Destroy All Monsters, Latitude Zero, and Godzilla Vs. Mechagodzilla!

Wow, I loved this. The guy who made it did another series almost exactly like it called The Specialists.

Wow, I loved this. The guy who made it did another series almost exactly like it called The Specialists.

The Specialists was awesome!!! This is a series I'd been trying to seek out for quite a long time, after seeing it on Liquid TV! James Hong was the narrator.

I also remembered reading a comic-book similar to it from around the same time, and it was from Vertigo or thereabouts. It was most probably Grant Morrison's run on DC's Doom Patrol.
