You don't have to hate a series in order to admit and discuss the flaws in it. Like I said, I actually really enjoyed Gokaiger, I can just see why others may not have. Likewise, I can see why you hate Gekiranger for the focus on Lio and Mele and I think there's a lot they could have done to make it an overall better season.. but I still loved it and think it's up there as one of the best.

In fairness, while Go-busters isn't the only poor performing Sentai, it did perform worse than any other ever. It's not even a case of Western fans hating it but Japanese ones loving it, or having poor viewer numbers but good toy sales, like many other seasons have. It seemed to fail at everything and I think it's worth discussing why. The problem is that people are still too heated up about it, whether they love it or hate it and that's making things a bit too hard at the moment. Admittedly, I really hated it, so maybe I'm part of the problem.

The problems with Wizard are a bit more clear cut and I don't think even hardcore fans of it are rushing to defend most of them. It's had a solid premise and a lot of cool moments, there's just sooo much padding. I can't believe it took them to the late 40's to reveal a plot twist that everyone predicted after the first episode. It's not surprising a lot of people have lost interest, despite the good aspects of the show.

I agree. I just think that with a lot of fans there's this feeling that if something becomes "too popular" or isn't getting "enough" criticism, something is wrong and we have to find fault with it ...

I don't really hate Gekiranger, they just overshadowed it for me. With the reception they reportedly got in Japan, and Japanese fans complaining that Goseiger made Brajira too important, I can see why Toei would be wary of a villain-heavy show at a time when they're looking for commercial success.

I agree with both of the above. But I get the impression that there wouldn't be so much strong feeling about them if a lot of people hadn't had high hopes for them that then got crushed.

Only listening to one opinion, usually your own. For example if one guy who hates Go-Onger and only listens to how bad Go-Onger is. Eventually the person who does so starts believing that anybody who likes Go-Onger is stupid or a bad person.

Or the polar opposite. Someone loves Gokaiger and just hangs out with people who love Gokaiger and views anybody who dislikes it as a bad person or an idiot
