Hmm. Well this all just IMHO of course. Prolly I'd have to say Kagami, but not even he was enough to save the show for me. Slightly dense but a straight-up heroic spirit. We've had more than our fare share of this archetype in tokusatsu in recent years but at least he was likable.
Tendou: Arrogant to the point of total absurdity and undermining any heroic aspects he has. I was hoping the character would grow beyond this schtick but all they really did was continue to have him be an ego-driven prick until the occasional crying jag for Hyori. The obsession with food and his Grandma wears very thin.
Daisuke: The shows very first gigantic shark-jump is the moment this guy pulled out his make-up brush. It never really recovered IMO. The wacky just got wackier. Sad to because I really liked Gon (crazy amnesia plot aside) and the whole concept of a Kamen Rider who travels with a child who is his only friend.
Tsurugi: Oh good lord! The stuff they do with this guy makes Daisuke make-up silliness seem like a cool breeze. I haven't seen lame comedy eat up this much of an action shows screen-time since Bulk and Skull. Not that I want my toku to be void of humor, but there's a balance and sense of priorities needed here.
Yagamura: His character had some degree of promise when he was all about "Perfect Harmony". It was interesting if only because it stood in stark contrast to Tendou's loner approach. Then they just made him utterly ridiculous after he loses the Zabee Zecter.
Kageyama: This slimy little weasel gets very annoying in a very short amount of time. The fact that he is also running around looking like a Gackt groupie with Yagamura just further adds to it. They're supposed to be all creepy and disturbing but they're easily the most laughable thing in the show. Even with their Hopper Zectors. Also is anyone else tired of seeing the Double Riders image used for villans? I mean it was kinda intresting when Kuuga did it but now you can time it like clockwork.
