I didn't enjoy "1984" or "Crime and Punishment".

Automatically ruling out manuals and textbooks, I'm going to have to say "The Dragon and the George" by Gordon R. Dickson. There was a totally kickass animated movie made very loosely based on this book back in the mid '80s called "The Flight of Dragons." The book, though, is just gods-awful, through and through.

You're all wrong. Not to say your choices aren't boring, but if you're wanting to know the most boring book ever written, look no further than The Scarlet Letter. Hawthorne, I have always thought, is a pretty shitty writer. He goes into huge detail about the stupidest, least important stuff in the entire novel (the moss on a rock in the forest or the color of wood), while forgetting to make the novel entertaining. I think Nathaniel Hawthorne gets the scarlet letter "A" for "Ass."

I liked 451 myself. Most boring book I ever read... the only one thta comes to mind is this one Strar Trek book I read called Federation. It jumped all over the place from the Original series, to TNG and even Zethran Cochrane time
