Mortal Kombat Talkback & Details on Standard and Special Editions

There going to have one hell of a time trying to come up or reviving good guys next game.
Huge Spoilers below for those who haven't played the game or finished story mode.
[HIDE]Sub-Zero dies, and becomes Noob Saibot, who is promptly killed again by Nightwolf.
Kung Lao is killed by Shao Kahn
Cyrax and Sektor are robotnotized, but you already knew that was going to happen. However Smoke is spared and Sub-Zero 2 is transformed into a cyborg.
Motaro is killed by Raiden, and is really only a cameo outside of a few appearances in story mode.
And now is when **** starts hitting the fan Shang Tsungs soul is used to power Sindel by Shao Kahn
Sindel kills , Jax, Jade, Cyber Sub-Zero, Stryker, Smoke, and Kabal, in under a minute and thirty seconds.
Sindel is killed by Nightwolf who sacrifices himself to incinerate her skeleton and all.
Kitana dies from her injuries in the fight
Raiden kills Liu Kang in self defense after Liu loses faith in him and tries to fight Shao Kahn.
Shao Kahn is beaten by the Elder Gods Power in Raiden or something to that effect.
Only Johnny Cage, Sonya and Raiden are alive to defend Earth at the end.[/HIDE]
He may have stopped Armageddon but pretty much everyone still died.
You know what bothers me the most?

[HIDE]Besides Jade and Kitana, it doesn't even look like she killed them, it only looks as if they got knocked out, I was a bit angry when the game just made it seem as if they all died. That was terrible, and honestly, it's the only part that bothered me about the story mode.[/HIDE]

The challenge tower is both a fun and hellish experience. Some things are hilarious to watch (MK Humor is always good, take a look at the Rainbow Kombat challenge), while others, you just want to skip (a triple challenge with Shao Kahn at the end, an army of Goros, an army of Kahns).
Test Your Luck was another great thing to have.
I'm just going to complete it as the devote fan I am.

I don't know...

[HIDE]Jax with the heal through the throat and Smoke getting his neck snapped made them look pretty fucking dead.[/HIDE]

I like the story. It's not often that you get to see the good guys killed. Brutally no less. Also, nobody in Mortal Kombat ever really dies as John Vogel says.

With Johnny Cage being killed off the most times...according to the archieve of the Elder Gods.

So, is anyone who has the PS3 version of MK able to confirm some the rumor that some of the Fatalities are "softened" when used against Kratos?

I ask because I've heard Sony was okay with him getting killed but demanded the humiliation factor of some of the finishing moves had be toned down when used against him.

The most common examples I've heard of are Johnny Cage's Fatality where he splits the enemy's head open and puts an Oscar there (the latter part being omitted), and Mellina's where she rips off the guy's head, chews on it and throws it away (she's apparently not hungry when decapitating the Ghost of Sparda).

Really now?
That's interesting.
I doubt it (The Oscar in Cage's Fatality is pretty much the entire point of it), but I'm genuinely interested now...

And I love Challenge Tower. Especially the one where you get to play as Johnny and The Director!

Yes, a couple of the Fatalities are softened when used against Kratos. Gametrailer's Secret Fatalities montage confirms the removal of Cage mounting his award on Kratos' neck for example.

Watching the Secret Fatalities video, Johnny's is the only one I noticed changed. However, there are some characters who's Fatalities I've only seen once or twice because I don't play as them, so can anyone confirm any other changes?
