I don't quite get it though. Are they saying that this will be the end for the characters we know? So is the next game going to take place in the next actual Mortal Kombat with new characters? (probably with new versions of subs and scorp since they're the only real iconic MK fighters)

Well, they're saying all the loose ends will be tied up, so I'd imagine they're going for a clean sweep for the current story. At least until all the next-gen consoles are out.

Geez, Mortal Kombat isn't even good anymore. They should've ended the games at 2! And who's going to want to play a Mortal Kombat game (that are terrible these days anyway) if it doesn't even have any familiar characters? Not me, at least. It'd be like The Cosby Show starring Steve Harvey. :disappoin
