This is being written on the message board as I was just informed by Patricia Brix that Maureen has taken a restraining order out on me, is has now begun to allege I attacked her physically in the middle of the Wilshire. Obviously, I cannot e-mail anything to Maureen. The following was written earlier today, and will bear amending over time.

I am going to need Kai's full name. While I have no desire to press charges against anyone for assault, there is video evidence, both from Jesse and from the Wilshire's security cameras, as to what occurred. I also have video of the closing speech, and you lying about Katy forgetting to mention me.
If the rumors of you circulating the "Chris beat up Mo" stories are true, I want you to put a stop to them now. That is both slander (on 'con premises) and libel (on the boards). Your reticence to comment about these stories is similarly a form of libel. I did NOTHING to you, Maureen. That tape vindicates me.
I called out that you broke your word, Kai taunted me, I screamed "okay, you know what" and raced after you with the script in my hands. My arms were at my side, except for when I raised a FOLDER OF PAPERS, open-palmed to give to you. And at that point, Kai attacked me. Kai was not security. Kai was neither private nor hotel security, and he physically assaulted me. This is a fact.
I want you to clear the air, right now, about the miscommunication and I want a public apology. I want an apology from you for pushing me out, and I want an apology from Kai for assaulting me. You, who so often boast about verbal and written contracts being one and the same, broke promises to me. I'm not going to sit by and let you do that again, Maureen. You are the least culpable person I have ever met.
KATY was not giving the closing speech from PM Inc. Katy is at no time culpable for you cutting me out. Do you remember our phone conversation two weeks ago, where you said you'd have all of PM Inc. give their own speeches, and then you'd introduce me? That was our final agreed upon form of the closing ceremonies. Had you simply notified me ahead of time those were being changed, I would have understood. This is NOT what we agreed upon.
This is not a threat, but I want you to understand that an employee of a company with ties to Make-a-Wish assaulting a man with a chronic health condition in the middle of a hotel lobby is not something that will sit well with the public. I will not have my reputation tarnished by this. Your inaction is doing precisely that.
I've been speaking to several people who work on the staff of conventions, including Lynn. Thus far, Kai and PM Inc. are actionable for at least four different lawsuits. I would just as soon this not go to that level. Unlike you, I am not made of money. I barely have enough to live on, and only made it to this 'con due to the kindness of loved ones.
I do not want to take you to court for this. Though I will most likely win (and regardless, you will be destroyed in the public eyes for letting your subordinates act as they had, AND for not acting to quell the confrontation at any time, not to mention not attempting to contact me to make reparation), I do not have the physical strength to endure those levels of stress.
Perhaps you noticed how sweaty and disoriented I became over the days of this convention. I should not have been there in the first place, and still I came because I felt the fans DESERVED to have this experience. I had better things to do than spend thirteen hours videotaping panels and events with Jesse. I did that for Lisa. I did that for the fans who could not make it to this convention.
This was never about myself, Maureen. Oh, I've got an ego. A pretty healthy one sometimes. And I was DAMNED proud. But there is no point where people who would be called to testify on my behalf in a court of law could not specify I was giving my all to ensure the fandom was given the best experience possible.
The final correction to the only copy of the speech, btw? I modified it so I no longer said "when I created the 'con ten years ago," so it simply said "when I joined the fandom eleven years ago." I felt you had earned your place in the spotlight as the creator of PMC. That's the last time I give you that level of common courtesy.
Our friendship is over. You made that decision. You screwed me over out of malice, most likely for reaming you out in front of your parents (I had no idea who they were incidentally). I accept that. I truly wanted to be your friend, Maureen. I gave you exceptions I would not give another person, because it seemed like you genuinely wanted us to rebuild what we once had. That you did this to me...
The look of sneering satisfaction in your eyes, and especially in Bri's eyes, was startling. Did you think you had me where you wanted me? Did it feel good to watch Mina's little subbie-boy shove me around like you so yearned to? If so... You're reprehensible. Reprehensible.
Per your rants over the last couple weeks about voiding contracts, you've just given me stupid levels of leeway to make life unpleasant for you. And I'm not going to do that. You know why? I honor my word to people. I did everything you asked of me at this convention, and you could not do me the decency to reciprocate. I wouldn't humiliate you. I wouldn't blackmail you. It's a small, petty person who does that.
I don't do that to people. I don't believe in legalities as a solution to problems. They cost time and money, and frankly, lawyers are duplicitous people who will do anything to ensure they themselves get work. That's like going to a neurosurgeon for a headache, instead of having a CT scan first.
I don't have to hold anything over you, Maureen. I don't believe in intimidating others with anything other than reality. My concept of power isn't based on that. Whatever you do to me, you will destroy yourself in the process. And despite what you did? I'd prefer you not ruin what might actually be a promising career in law, provided you can get your act together and start living your own life by the principles you judge others.
I'm not going to fight, Maureen. I never wanted to make you an enemy. You made that decision when you let Kai attack me and did nothing to prevent that.
