Metal Gear Solid Online Premiere Beta up!

For anyone who has planning on trying to get their hands on a code, in the US at least, just go to your local GameStop(or bestbuy or any other retailer that allows pre-orders). Before pre-ordering, ask if they are giving out the MGS BONUS DVD. Not all employees of either bestbuy or GameStop know what is on the DVD, but I assure you, it comes with the Bonus Beta Key access.

At my personal store, we have around twenty to thirty DVDs since I saw last in the drawers. We most likely have more, but yeah.

Just ask up front if the store is giving them away, then pay-up the 5 dollars to put towards a purchase of MGS4.

Bam. You got a Beta DVD. And if you don't actually want to play the game, want the DVD for free, or play the Beta and dislike it, go back a few days later to the same store and cancel your reserve. I have no idea how easy it is to cancel at bestbuys and other stores, but at GameStop, if your store is an honest store such as mine, it's really easy. Just say you wanna remove the pre-order, and if they say you can't, tell them that's a lie because it's still your money, and that GameStop is just holding onto it untill the customer decides what to do with it. So yeah. You should also be able to get it back in cash if you spent cash, which I reccomend. Credit Cards take time to get the money back, Gift Cards are a waste of time to use only temporarily, and Debit cards come back as cash anyway.

So go out and reserve for those Beta keys!

Oh my god, I just played as Snake! And I kicked ASS!

Y'know what my favorite part is? The P90, my favorite gun, is actually good in this game! I'm killing people left and right Solidus Snake style!

Oh man. I'm in love with this game.

Me too. Unfortunately, I didnt get a chance to play as Snake this time. Is it random, or just the host? Cuz, I usually go to Automatching to play since I dont wanna get totally pwned right now.

I honestly dont know the names of all the guns. But I love using Sniper Rifles, though I dont get much chances cuz I usually get sniped quickly. Ill get the hang of it though.

The thing is, I didnt realize it was a new map and game mode till after I played it. I usually just pick DM or TDM so I thought I just didnt see it. My brother told me afterwards that its new. The level is soo detailed. I cant wait till I get the full version. Imagine how good it will be. I mean, this is only the Beta version.

So, what names are you guys using to play? Im using my regular PSN name: InuiTakumi23. Maybe we can someday later this week host our own game and invite, if thats possible in the Beta version. Im busy till Friday so I wont play much this week.

Oh, and how long does the Beta version last?

I'm pretty sure whoever plays as Snake is random, but holy crap is it fun.

In MGO I'm Badonkadonk (didn't see that coming, did ya!?), but I don't have a bluetooth headset so no voice chat for me. I'll get the MGS4 headset when it comes out. I might try connecting my bluetooth keyboard to my PS3 tonight and see how that works out.

The controls felt really wierd at first, since it was pretty much just Snake Eater except the shooting is all done with the shoulder buttons, but now that I have it figured out I love it. Does anyone bother to use auto-aim? I tried it on one dummy and then said "Oh yeah. That's never happening again." and never touched it since.

I really love how they handled the cardboard box. I figured that it would be completely useless since, c'mon, why would any human fall for that? But they way they randomly place boxes around the map actually makes it useful, I've gotten a couple of kills by hiding in the box then taking a guy out from behind. I haven't tried the oil drum yet.

I don't quite have the SOP figured out, I get the feeling that there's a lot more to it to discover.

The game is fucking gorgeous. I can barely stand how great everything looks. I can't wait to spend $60 on the full version when it comes out after MGS4, I just wanna cuddle up with it and never let it go. I've got GTA IV coming tomorrow, but I get the feeling I won't be playing it for a little while

The auto aim system got me killed a few times so I said screw it. its useless.

The barrel is funny. After a while, you get out and puke.

Im definitely getting this rather than GTA 4. I only got soo much money and this I have been waiting for for years. And the game is gorgeous indeed. I cant believe how good the Beta looks. And I have a standard TV. I can only imagine how it looks in HD.

The online manual you can access from within the game says that MGO will be included with MGS4 (!) and that the beta is going until May 11.

Yeh, I heard about MGO being included in MGS4. Thats awesome. Hmm...May 11. Thats a good enough time to have it after this week, since I wont be playing much till Friday.

Question: Do you get disconnected from games a lot? I do and Im wondering if its the server or my connection. Chances are its my connection.
