Metal Gear Solid 4 Talkback (SUPER SPOILERS)

Sounds good, I'm SkeetTron5000 on PSN (I think Badonkadonk was taken). I'll get to it pretty soon, right now I just can't get enough of the story mode.

The only other online game I have is Resistance, I literally bought the PS3 near launch just so I could play MGS4 whenever it came out. It's the best game I've ever spent $710 on, totally worth it.

Same here. I was this close to getting a 360 when Halo 3 came out. Some of my friends had it so I thought it would be fun. But, then me and my brother decided that since we were huge fans of MGS series and have been waiting for MGS4 for soo long, we should shell out the extra 100 bucks for it. And Im soo glad I changed my mind.

I have Resistence, Warhawk, and GTA4 for online play. but I only play Resistence online. GTA I play sometimes, but I have dropped it since getting MGS4

I'm not going to lie. I got the game on the Thursday it came out, and finished it the following Friday night, and I didn't skip the cutscenes either... Haha, I was a zombie at work the next day.

Totally worth it though. I'd argue it's the best ending in video game history. People who claim that games like GTA and Halo are epic really need to take a look at this series (not discrediting those two games, just throwing examples out there).

To be honest, Halo 1 is the only game that I felt came close to the epicness of the MGS series. Metal Gear totally immerses you in the experience. And teh fights that are set up are brilliantly made. Oh, and dont get me started on how freakin awesome the cutscenes are. Kojima approaches it like artwork so it always raises the bar.

I still dont see what the total hype was over GTA4. I havent beat it yet but it didnt live up to the hype IMO.

I have a bad habit of playing games in marathon sessions, I think I picked up that habit from my Phantasy Star Online years. I would have played all the way through MGS4 in my first sitting without even thinking about it, but for this game I made an effort to stretch it out for a few days. After all, I've been thinking about this game for four years, so it would suck if I finished it in a single day. I've ruined a lot of games that way

The end couldn't have been done any better, I actually teared up at one point near the end. And the extraordinary thing is that it was during actual gameplay. JDO probably knows what part I'm talking about.

Damn, that good huh? Wow, I cant wait.

I cant really do marathon sessions cuz I live with like 8 other people and only one TV (and it aint even HD :() so I only usually have a couple hours a day free to play. It sucks but when I get my own place Ill be doing that a lot.

Im trying to stretch it out too. Seems like we are on the same page in the fact that we have been anticipating this game for so long that we wanna cherish every minute of it.

Did you get the regular version or the limited addition? I didnt have enough to get the limited but I would love to see whats in that second disc.

Absolutely. It was the first ending to a game that EVER made me teary. I wrote a large review on my myspace page too. Let me know if you're interested (It's spoiler free :) ).

And of all the old Halo titles, I'd definitely agree that the first one was the best. They seemed to drop in quality quite a bit after that (in the campaign at least).

Oh, and if anyone wants to add me on PSN, I'm JDOmnislash on there too. The limited edition version was worth the money in my opinion. The extra content is great, and the special boxart is beautiful.

I got the limited edition. I haven't checked out the extra Blu-Ray yet, but the box is gorgeous and I don't need to tell you that the soundtrack CD is fantastic :buttrock:

I already know the soundtrack is worth the extra money, I've been wanting the full version of the Love Theme since E3 2006

Today I'm gonna run around with the Stealth I unlocked yesterday and look for iPod songs, maybe dick around and take a few pictures. Going for that Big Boss Emblem soon :169:

Have you guys checked out the Metal Gear Solid 4 Database they released on the PSN store last night? It's insane, it's like a full wiki on all things Metal Gear. Every tiny part of the games is explained in detail, down to the chopsticks in Emma's hair, haha. Also, it doesn't unlock any info from MGS4 unless you have a clear file on your system, so you're safe from spoilers until you finish the game. Seriously, it's free and it's awesome, download it ASAP.

My brother told me yesterday, Im gonna download it today. The problem is, since my cousin already beat it, it will probably unlock all the spoiler info. So I still cant read it till I finish.

and I just realized something. My brother tried MGO and it said that you can only have one character per PS3. So since my and my cousin have separate accounts on the PS3, we cant all have one like in the beta version. We have to buy extra characters from PSN or something. That blows.

That does blow about the one character per PS3 thing.

But good news about the Database. At the main screen if you go to "Options", you can turn MGS4 info on or off.

Sweet.

EDIT: Just beat MGS4. Now I know what you meant by almost crying. That was a very fitting ending. And it was long as hell. But I enjoyed every minute of it.

I liked the game a lot, and it was a nice end to Solid Snake's saga, even though the plot -major spoilers-[hide]went pretty shitty at the end. Now, I liked Raiden in MGS2, and I liked him in MGS4. His scene in the ending made me cry, and that continued with Snake putting the gun to his mouth. However, then Big Boss showed up and RUINED it. No matter how touching the fatherhood/ brotherhood was, how on some distant plane it even made sense, it was still stupid.[/hide]
Apart from that, it was all pretty good. Gameplay was excellent, music was excellent, graphics were great, even though to me it seemed Snake was the worst looking character in the game (graphics-wise).

So I did my third playthrough today in one eight-hour sitting, just getting a few misc. emblems like the one for holding up 50 enemies and giving 50 items to allies, but most importantly getting the Assassin's Creed disguise

Also, I wanted to get Crocodile, which you get for having 400 kills, and ended up with 616 kills :D

By the way (Act 4 spoilers):
[HIDE]The Rex vs. Ray fight is even better when you listen to Beyond the Bounds on the iPod :buttrock: [/HIDE]
