To all fellow Type Moon fans, I completed the game and I really loved it.
I used Sion Eltnam Atlasia, Shiki Tohno and lots more and I managed to beat it. I had to redo it.

I saw that one too. Boy! Tohno Shiki might be a weakling
due to his anemia, but that guy is one badass character
once he turns to his NANAYA MODE. Shiki Tohno/Nanaya rocks!
Type Moon's first 2d Fighting game is one of the best.

Simple characters is one thing, generic, crappy, and uninspired is another. See you can be simple without being generic, look at Cammy from Street Fighter for instance. Simple enough design and background yet not generic at all.

And the characters have anime-esque artwork thats for sure. But an anime-esque feel isn't saying much and can be considered a con (since anime characters are usually unfleshed out archetypes).

Watch any random anime and odds are you can find a character with the same or similar design that serves the same purpose. Like I said Melty Blood has incredibly generic and boring character designs.

Odds are a Melty Blood anime is possible, then again the same was said about Guilty Gear and there hasn't been one yet.

Anyways, for the topic itself, I've beat the game as well. And I can safely say that good beginner characters are Ciel and Shiki Nanaya. Ciel has various attacks that involve knives, and Shiki Nanaya...well...you can just be cheap and button-mash, because he has that slash barrage attack that generally produces a 7-12 hit combo (Hisui has a similar attack using soup ladles, but that only produces a 6-hit combo by itself).

Not really the most skilled player, since I have yet to reach the level of hitting 30+ hit combos with any character.

Hey thats your opinion. I'm just saying that I feel these designs are pretty bad and incredibly generic. Like look at this how is this design right here not the definition of generic?
