true but this fanboy is still hoping that there is a connection between 9 and X. Making X to be 10. That would be very nice indeed.

Witht he implication that Light's own robots have run amok in this game, Im hoping thats the introduction of Wily's first creation of the maverick virus or Zero Virus. But that's very wild fanboy-speculation on my part.

It is possible to do both, yanno. T_T Can worry about continuity and enjoy the game. Of course, I only worry up to Megaman Zero because all games beyond that point are just Capcom being crazy and going "what else can we do with the blue bomber and how can we make Zero look more like a fairy"

What I want is for Capcom to return to the old school Mega Man X system, with the next X sequel, if there is to ever be one.

I was completely disappointed with 7.

I will say that 8 was actually.. decent.

Bring X back to its SNES days.

Even the 4-6 system would suffice.

However, I doubt it will happen.

I wouldn't mind seeing a sequel to MMX:Command Mission. Not a bad entry into the X series.

Megaman X4 was the best in the series, in my opinion. I never did play 8 though. I was so disgusted with 7 that I just figured Capcom didnt know wtf they were doing (with the game and its storyline) and just wrote it off.

In my opinion, the last real Megaman X game was 5. 6 wasnt bad but the story didnt address any of the build up that was happening throughout 4 and 5. Capcom just dropped everything and adopted a new story plot all together.

Anyway, I doubt it would happen too. But, if they did a classic Megaman game maybe we will get a classic Megaman X game.

But about the continuity, a lot of us Mega-fans really held high hopes for an eventual Megaman 9 that connected the Megaman series with the X series. Because with Megaman 8, speculation was wild that the Zero Virus was inspired or born from the "Evil Energy".

So you can imagine what many of us were wondering when we learned the plot of Megaman 9 was that Light's own bots were running amok. Wily might've perfected his Maverick/Zero virus (which is introduced in X5 for the most part.)

Its just a shame though. But Im happy MM9 is out. I havent played it yet. Im waiting for the XBox live version. (dont really wanna play a MM game on a wii-mote. and dont wanna buy a classic controller for the system)

If they did release a new X game, I'd definantly want it like what they did with Megaman 9. A traditional 2D game using the PS1 sprites (with anime cutscenes of course).
