Mega Man 9 out today

It's fuckin' phenomenal so I don't regret buying 'em all. Best MM since MM3.

now I really like you. See everyone wants to say MM2 was the best game but thats because it was also the easiest MM of the entire series. No one likes MM6 because they couldnt beat it. Too many articles and professional writers who forget that MM3 introduced new game mechanics, a fantastic new boss layout, Protoman debut, and a great adventure. It was really the height of the MM progression for the time. There's no overlooking that.

Well, I do love all the new stuff MM3 introduced, but MM2 really is my favorite. Gotta play it with the original Japanese difficulty though. ;) MM3 is a very close second. The rest just didn't add enough new stuff and the level design got lazy after awhile.

I played the demo which both showed me the glory of Retro MegaMan's return and how much I should NOT be buying this.

The demo I can't get past is more than enough for me and makes me smile pretty damn big when I boot it up. Love the music, sound and graphics. It really does give you the Mega Man 9 Nostalgia Effect.

yeah MM is not for everyone. But I've played it ever since I was a little kid. Grew up with the megs and beat every game I got my hands on.

MM is about trial and error. You wont get anything on the "first try" without beginner's luck. You will die several times but the idea is to learn from your mistakes and overcome the challenge.

For example, the third elephant on Concrete Man's stage was tripping me up but once I figured out the strat to successfully beating him (which is to not try to stay on the middle. Avoid the ball on the middle plat, shoot, then jump to the left side when hes sucking the ball back up.), it went smoothly.

Same with other stages. I guess you just had to have grew up with it to really deal.
