Currently they only have ONE series. ONE. V3 isn't even available from them yet. And what about if I want to watch Faiz,or Ryuki?

They're working on other shows. WORKING. If you want to see Faiz or Ryuki: www.tvnihon.com

Should I just wait forever and hope they release it?

Jedah already gave a probable release date, and I don't think it was forever.

Or pay a ridiculous amount of money for an unsubtitled R2 official Japanese DVD (which won't work on my DVD player, and even if it did, I wouldn't understand a thing anyway)

Regions 2's weren't even a part of the discussion. The JN's are Region 1, which will play fine in any DVD player you have. Why not check out Kikiada? It's better than 99% of today's tokusatsu.

Support the pirates if you want, but eventually HK's are going to become impossible to find and they're going to stop producing them, and if we're going to get more toku over here in the States, we need people to actually support the companies releasing it.

I have given that serious consideration. And not just because I like to buy stuff from Japan, though that will be a nice perk.

Also, I have a thing for Japanese women (who doesn't)

But my main reason is instinct for my own survival. Every time I hear America just boasting the hell out of "how great it is", rubbing it in other countries faces, I keep getting this bad BAD feeling.

"All Empires crumble, there is no exception"

Frankly, America has just been ASKING for it. It's one thing to piss off one country that cannot overpower you. But if you piss off enough, then there's trouble (For Example: You could beat up a 5 year old easily, no chance of that kid winning in a fight.. But a horde of em? Goodnight, Irene!)

Which is why I don't want to be here when that large septic tank next to the giant fan finally blows

America isn't really doing anything to piss people off to the point where they stop laughing at us and actually try anything harmful.

And I could take a horde of 5 year olds.

but judging from the Kikaida prices, it would be cheaper for me to buy the Hong Kong box set of Kamen Rider V3. The Kikaida box set is $195. Almost $200. So, V3 will probably cost the same , or more, or maybe a wee bit less. Whereas the HK DVD set will cost me $60
Actually Kikaida series was released over nine disk then put out as a box set. They said the V3 set would be six disk top so the price would be much lower

The only thing I can imagine America is doing to piss people off is Americanizing Japanese shows and having it gain worldwide fame while it's Japanese original only stays in Japan. Shitty eh?

One example: Saban's Masked Rider

I'm not sure whether she's a Toku fan, but Seeming she's living in a place where Toku hardly exists (England), this would mean she's not seen Tokusatsu for ages.
I dunno, they have Godzilla movies in England, not to mention Monkey and Star Fleet . . . (You know what "tokusatsu" means, right? Just making sure . . .)

Anyway, upon Toei/Ishinomori's request, Saban had to call the series Masked Rider (as that's what "Kamen Rider" is in English), but I'll definitely not remember the name "Masked Rider" by that Saban abomination. I saw it when it first came out and I was deeply insulted. What a way to misintroduce the most famous model Japanese superhero next to Ultraman . . .

Remember, Saban wanted to release Ultraman Tiga in the US! Tsuburaya refused, becuase they did not want their franchise to be turned into another Power Rangers (they allowed it with Gridman, but never with the Ultra Series). They know they have Ultra-fans in the US, and they did not want to insult them.

Godzilla did make appearances in England, but not the Japanese Godzilla, just the crappy American Godzilla. And as for Monkey, from what I heard isn't really a Tokusatsu and is actually a Chinese show rather than a Japanese show. I've not seen / heard of Star Fleet.

I'm surprised to hear Saban wanted to bring Ultraman Tiga to the US, but in the end it was 4Kids Entertainment who did it instead. It didn't make appearances on UKTV, which is otherwise a good thing because from what I heard the dubbing was awful!! They even censored bits that had Japanese culture in it (disgraceful).

Just recently I've read in a NEO magazine, that the SciFi Channel "were" going to bring Ultraman Dyna to the UK, but in the end they didn't. Which is a good thing because they intended to replace the music with shitty Techno Beats.

And yes, Saban's Masked Rider was a poor way of introducing one of Japan's Icons to the world.

So Saban tried to go after Tsuburya, huh? Yeesh.

PS: What was up with Tsuburya's sequel series to Gridman? Trashed idea?
