Masked Rider on DVD!

We will be getting "Masked Rider" on DVD this year. Sort of. Actually we will be getting something better than "Masked Rider" on DVD this year.

JNProductions whom released all of the original "Kikaida" series last year will be releasing a "Kamen Rider V3" boxset later this year. It will be the whole series and it will be subtitled and uncut. That last I heard the tentative release date was November 22nd.

Here's the promo for the release.

Wait, why would they release a sequel series BEFORE the original?

Or wait, this won't be in stores will it.

This is a bootleg,isn't it?

It's not a boot, JNProductions is a Hawaii-based company that got Kikaida put on DVD because they loved it when it aired a while back (and got it aired again). V3 is first because to the best of my knowledge, the original never aired there.

that doesn't change the fact that it's not the original show. I love V3, but that pisses me off that they just skipped the original! Ok,it's cool that they are real (they even sell them at amazon, cool), but judging from the Kikaida prices, it would be cheaper for me to buy the Hong Kong box set of Kamen Rider V3. The Kikaida box set is $195. Almost $200. So, V3 will probably cost the same , or more, or maybe a wee bit less. Whereas the HK DVD set will cost me $60

I heard there was gonna be a V3 Boxset!! Man I wish I could Import it from Hawaii!! Not sure if my comp plays R1s though..

Man the Hawaiians are so lucky!! They get all this cool Japanese stuff, and what do we Brits get? :bawling: So Unfair!!

The original would be awesome, sure. I'm just happy that someone is releasing uncut toku shows in the U.S., at all.

Buy Region-free HK dvds? The subtitling is crap, but you can figure it out...unless you're stupid. Engrish is usually pretty easy, but annoying :shakefist

Oh yeah, plus HK DVDs are much MUCH cheaper, and sometimes, the only choice you have. I would not have seen the entire series of Uchuu Keijin Gavan, otherwise

I'll give you that, it is a good thing. Unfortunately, I doubt it will catch on. The last time that happened, an americanization-ed version was so bad, it made it's counterpart, Kamen Rider Black RX look like a complex work of art, an enigma in it's own way. It was mesmorizing, impossible to grasp, yet it held us firmly. Little did we know it was just because Saban's "Masked Rider" sucked so bad

But the HK's are disgraceful, distorted and faded laserdisc rips with some half-assed unreadable Babbelfish subs on them, whereas the JN's are clean, pristine, and immaculately subbed by people who actually speak Japanese. Plus, it's official. Keep buying the HK crap and you'll keep getting low-quality products that supports pirates over in China and Taiwan and Malaysia; buy the JN's get more toku brought over here (ZUBAT, C'mon!!!!!). Pretty easy decision for me.

Currently they only have ONE series. ONE. V3 isn't even available from them yet. And what about if I want to watch Faiz,or Ryuki?

Should I just wait forever and hope they release it?

Or pay a ridiculous amount of money for an unsubtitled R2 official Japanese DVD (which won't work on my DVD player, and even if it did, I wouldn't understand a thing anyway)

eh, I'll support the pirates
