hmm some things u have said are just plain stupid to be quite frank, they would have to put in thier own charachters power rangers does it and its a success the show has to have some origanllity to it not just a comeplet and utter remake of the japensse version and you said the same name for the rider thats just dumb your basing your opinion of what happend in the past with masked rider and your saying that since its origanlly from japan it sohuld be kept in its orginal form if that happend there would be no power rangers at all

I don't see why it should be considered as "stupid" to have a Japanese show being shown worldwide in it's original Japanese form dubbed in English. Plus, it's Masked Rider we're talking about, not Power Rangers.

The only "originality" I seen in Saban's Masked Rider is the lame comedy, the poor editing, the crappy laserbeams from the Ribolocane, and that annoying "Ferbus" character.

Power Rangers had their own characters and became a success, probably because the American audiance never got to know the Japanese original cast. I'm not saying if they discovered the ZyuRangers they would turn against the Power Rangers as if they were traitors, that would be unknown. Here's a good idea, maybe we should put it to a test. Get some kids round, sit them through episode 1 of Mighty Morphin Power Rangers, then episode 1 and 2 of Kyoryu Sentai ZyuRanger (preferably TV Nihon's version with Subtitles, so they can understand it), and see what they think.

Here's another good idea, try NOT aiming Kamen Rider 555 at children. I don't see what's wrong with aiming it at Teenagers or Young Adult, since Wolverine/Batman/Marvel Superheroes/Whatever are superheroes like Kamen Rider, and they have been popular with these age groups since the 60's.

But really, I'm not entirely bothered about a Japanese show being aired on American TV, it's nothing exciting, but I am a bit bothered about having the American version being shown worldwide while the Japanese original only being shown in Japan. Since I live in Britain, it feels like being told you're not allowed to see anything Japanese because the Americans are gonna censor it, and that sucks!! But don't get me wrong about Power Rangers, I love Mighty Morphin Power Rangers, they were my favorites when I was a kid, but ever since there were these sequels it started not being as good as it used to be, and later started getting a bit boring, Ninja Storm was the worst, and I think it's sad that they're just gonna keep kicking out the Japanese cast every year.

Why don't you tell me what's so good about making a Japanese show American? What are the benifits? Because in Masked Rider I saw nothing!! And yes, Masked Rider is comedy, unfunny comedy that is.

But I'm not critisising him for liking Masked Rider, I'm just abit bored with this happening every year.. Japanese show turns American, American gets worldwide fame, Japanese only gets fame in Japan.. even though I like the original Power Rangers and VR Troopers...


Oh heck, like I said I'm not entirely bothered about Japanese shows being shown in the US. I can always buy imports from Japan (even though they're too expensive), or download it off the internet or buy HK Bootlegs (even though they're surposed to be illegal), but sometime when you want to watch a Japanese show the way it's surposed to be you don't have a choice.

Despite being a true blue PR fan, I'd rather see Kamen Rider uncut and just subtitled rather than americanized.

Still I think some Rider series could lend itself well to americanization. Some moreso than others. Ryuki could work but I wouldn't even attempt americanizing Hibiki.

But in order for it to work at all. It would have to be a show targeted towards teens and adults. A new Masked Rider for kids would be a(nother) disaster. Power Rangers works because Super Sentai itself is just a kiddy show, whereas Rider is directed at an older audience. Stuff like turning bullets into lasers would be nothing compared to the scalpel work KR would get as a kid's show.

If Disney ever wants put together their own Adult Swim-type block. (Bloody unlikely!) Or if the real Adult Swim ever wanted to "cheat" like Toon Disney does with PR. Then I would be all for someone at least giving a new Masked Rider a try. Until them, I'm perfectly happy with it being strictly a Japanese program.

Masked Rider is catorgised a LIVE ACTION SHOW not comedy LIVE ACTION basri thanks its cool i can defend myself m8 anyway you say every year i can rember any shows that have done that since Beetleborgs, like you said if you want to watch kamen rider get a dvd or download it dont wait for america to show it cause you will be waiting a long time.

Hey hey hey....not all dubbed toku shows are considered comedies. Ultraman Tiga wasn't a comedy...neither was the original Ultraman. Personally, I'd rather see it dubbed than butchered. Especially if they're gonna use a series like Faiz. I mean, if they redo Faiz, how are they going to explain the three units?? Or Smart Brain...
