Martial Arts?

3 years of mostly kung fu (WuShu) training for self-defense. Though, it's been a long time, and I wish I could take it again.

I learned: Long-fist 1 & 2, Beijing 1, Tai Chi, Northern Shaolin, Crane fist forms 1 & 2, Rat-tail staff and PuDao forms, some Straight sword and broad sword form, spear form, Eagle claw, Bagua, 5 animal-form, Staff vs Staff form, and... other forms (both single, and partner drill exercises) that I cannot remember anymore... :disappoin

I tried taking Taekwondo, but I was in it for two days, and didn't like it (the Americanization is probably what put me off).

Though, my brother is more of a martial artist then me.

I've been a practitioner of Karate (Shotokan style : the least aggressive form  ) for about 5 years and 1 year of Aikido. Then I graduated from university and have been too busy ever since to continue, unfortunately.

I did some Taijutsu for a year, but it got too repetitive and i knew most things already about how you move plus i had loads of schoolwork so i quit. ^^

Did Judo for 2 years, got a yellow belt. Currently doing TKD (Brown 2, one more grading to my black belt!), Wushu (Performance) and Kendo (6th Kyu). I plan to start Tai Chi soon.

This is OT, but how many members here can split?

I'm actually going to start learning kendo soon.

You'll enjoy yourself, especially when you put on your bogu and start whacking each other, though the bloody kote cut will still hurt even with the kote on. Men cuts also stun you for a while, depending on the opponent's strength and tenouchi. The initial stage of your course will probably involve you doing suburi, i.e. hitting the air, but don't get too bored with it and give up. Be sure to kiai with all your might too!

i wish i just knew something so i can KICK ASS when a hero is called out...:buttrock:

Its not really hard to defend yourself strider, if youre kinda big, use your weight, if youre skinnier, use the speed. It doesnt take training punch a man in the face, then kick him in the nuts.

...unless the guy has any training at all and knows what an incoming punch looks like. :)

This is pretty much the most wrongest and potentially dangerous piece of advice I've ever read. :)

I disagree with this. Instead of not training, why not train in something that excels with that certain body-type. This can be helpful.
