Make It So: An Idea for an Ultraman Movie

Welcome once again to the series which I decide to give other people ideas and act like I know what I'm doing! For this Make It So, I've decided to focus on an Ultraman movie idea and hope that Tsuburaya Productions and any American movie studio they partner with will listen.

So, here's the story in bullet point form:

• Have the focus be an new Ultra who seems to have lost (name he comes up with: Ultraman Lost) contact with his brothers from the M78 galaxy and ends up on Earth.
• Have this Ultra come into contact with a scientist who was injured saving a child from a monster attack.
• Have the film divide focus between some large alien empire deciding to attack Earth and this Ultra trying to convince the Planetary Defense Task Force (the always needed providers of super vehicle toys to sell) that he truly is here to help them.

Yeah, I know that it's an extremely basic outline that has been utilized elsewhere in the franchise, but I'm sure with the proper script , great actors and impressive enough fight scenes it can be pulled off.

As for actors I would suggest the following:

Try to get Chiwetel Ejiofor as the Ultra's human form. (Call him Dr. Daniel Drake)....

....bring in Michelle Rodriguez as the the main P.D.T.F agent Ultraman Lost allies himself. Also she's just his friend. Avoid making he a love interest at all....

....get Anton Yelchin as the young, impressionable P.D.T.F newbie.....

.....and Lastly, get Keith David to be the Commander of the P.D.T.F.

Never really considered it fan fiction because,well... there's no narrative in just an idea. That's all this is. If I had, say, written a script, I would have posted it there. But this is just an idea I had rattling around in my head.

A long time ago I thought of an American-adapted trilogy of movies, but with a big budget and large scope (anti-Ultimate Hero). I know there was a lot of detail to it, but really what I remember right now is the general plots and the featured monsters.

Movie 1: Pretty generic plot, via Ultraman Next in a way, but the Science Patrol, now taking the name SPO, is still around. The plot focuses on Ultraman first arriving and destroying a Bemular monster that escaped from its prison in space, but it turns out that it was released during an attack on the prison by the Baltan Seijin, who plan to invade the earth and assimilate it into a Baltan planet. The movie combines episodes 1, 2, and 16 the most, the final battle being that the Baltans, now with millions of them on the planet and setting up a public execution of the SPO to show their lack of mercy, are stopped by Ultraman, who left the planet in a trap where the first Giant Baltan caught him on the moon by posing as a scientific professor (just like in 16), claiming that he found the Baltan base's coordinates. So the final battle wages and Ultraman fights and destroys two Giant Baltans, and the Science Patrol find the Baltan "hive mind" and kill it, collectively scatering the Baltans off of the planet.

Movie 2: The second film focuses on how Ultraman, once considered a military threat, is officially working with earth's forces. Ever since the first movie, more and more monster activities have been popping up around the globe. The movie begins with Ultraman fighting a giant Red King and eventually taking it down. This seems to be the norm, until the SPO is contacted by a mysterious being called Zarab, who claims that he only wants peace with planet earth in order to stop the Land of Light from taking the earth, which he claims 'is a brainwashing cult that brings you false hope and promises.' He constantly hints towards Ultraman as a 'being of Light,' and slowly turns everyone against him. A gas attack, a disease attack, and other events happen, and Zarab stops all of them, getting earth on his side. By some turn of events, it is eventually revealed that the mastermind behind it all is Mephilas, an all powerful cyborg that was made by his people in order to find them a new planet for his dying race, and is willing to sacrifice any other species to do so. He hired Zarab, a hitman, to make Ultraman seem less trustworthy and to get access to all of earth's defenses. At some point, Zarab thinks that he killed 'Hayata' and proceeds to become Fake Ultraman and wrecks a city. However, 'Hayata' breaks free, beats Zarab, and then confronts Mephilas in a final, epic battle which results in a tie, both parties out of energy. Mephilas leaves, only to swear that he will return shortly. Episode 18 and episode 33 are the main sources of adaption.

Movie 3: I'll do this one later.

PS: I really do wish that Tsuburaya didn't hold back Steve Wang; after all, he was the ones considered to do Ultraman - Ultimate Hero.

Man, that show would've been GREAT under his direction. Too bad all we got were a bunch of awful fight scenes, horrid acting and dialogue, and monsters that can't move.
