LOTR Trilogy Extended Edition...

what did everyone think about the Extended editon...

i thought it was f*cking awesome and wish PJ would add even more fighting into it and show what the heck happen to Gimli and Legolas at the end...

cant wait to get it on bluray

The first one was really good, the second was boring as hell and the third one was pretty alright....but the extended editions were just too damn long. I don't know how anyone can sit in one place for that long.

Heh... I tried to sit through a LOTR marathon at home once and I found myself "going crazy" half-way during the second one already. I needed a rest after the movie ended...

I actually found the first one to be boring. I liked the second and third ones most. I'm more into the epic battles (Battle of Helm's Deep and Pelennor Fields were my favorites), the creatures, and villains. I'm glad we get to find out what happens to Saruman and Grima Wormtongue in the Return of the King Extended Edition.

A lot of my friends and my cousins also agree... so when we have attempt to have any LOTR marathons, we usually just stick with the Two Towers and then Return of the King. We already know what happens in the first one so we just play along with what we already know. Honestly, a LOTR marathon -- let alone a EE LOTR marathon -- is way to tiring... and I thought it wasn't possible to get tired from watching movies. :sly:

It's called the pause button if you have no patience. I mean the fact you called any of them boring then go on to say you don't know how anyone can sit in place for that long... I just don't get kids today.

The movies are wonderful. The LOTR movies are the ONLY instance where I prefer the movies to the books.

cant wait to see Andy Serkis and Doug Jones duke it out on screen for The Hobbit...:buttrock:

Gollum vs Silver Surfer?!?!?!

Yes, but theoretically you should be able to just sit down and watch a movie, not have to take breaks because three movies are half a day long. I didn't like the second movie...big deal.

The movies are between 2.5 and 4.5 hours long each. I hate the mentality that you and others have that a movie has to be only 95 minutes to get people in and get them out. Honestly if you can't sit still for a movie the length of the LOTOR movies, then perhaps long movies just arn't something you should really do.
