Lion Maru G - Talkback

so its another Adult toku or something like Garo or..? The suits look.. interesting.

I disagree with others who said it's not "adult". It's VERY adult - he has an erection (ep 1), he grabs himself (eps 1 & 2), he masterbates (ep 2) and he has pictures of naked women in his "room" (eps 1 & 2). However, what the series is not (yet) is serious. I do agree with ShadowRider as it is "perverted" but it's very comedic at the same time which is also the opposite of GARO which was dark and serious.

So far, this is one series I wouldn't let my kids even partially watch.

Episode 3. Overall not so great. The ep was mostly talk so I missed so much of what was going on. I hope this series gets subbed so I can get a better understanding of the eps and maybe more fully enjoy them. It did have a couple of good moments though. Particularly the one fight scene and the following encounter between Jounosuke and Koji. That was a fun scene.

I still like how unheroic Shishimaru is. His reactions are so silly. Anyway, seems he's now holding on to the sword so hopefully with the next episode we'll see at least the begining of him taking on a more heroic role. And hopefully we'll get plenty of action.

So I suppose from the flashback, from who I guess is another villain, Junior knows about Jounosuke being Tiger Joe. I suppose that means Junior is in some way in league will Gousan. I'm still not liking the lack of non-human villains so far though. Gousan may be the closest thing to that, but I doubt will see any battle with him until the end of the series.

Anyway, episode 4 looks like it'll be better. Looking forward to that.

Episode 4 was okay. The fight was the real highlight of the episode, and finally we get to see some sort of monsters. It's interesting that Shishimaru allies himself with Junior's rivals who unbeknownst to him are holding these women captive, including Kosu K and Saori. It was funny that Kosu K seems to have faith that Shishimaru will rescue them while Saori's really unconvinced.

Looks like we finally get to see the face off between Lion Maru and Tiger Joe next episode. Hopefully this episode will show some marked improvement, particularly in the series' "hero." Hopefully Kosu K won't lose her faith in Lion Maru, and she'll be proven right in thinking he will turn out to be the much needed hero of Kabuki City.

Oh yeah, freaky ass Junior called Gousan "papa." :confused2 Are they actually parent and child?

It must be a relationship of that sort, Junior seems to be really twisted.
Gousan's voice reminds me of Ragorn and Zahab.

Wow, some much needed redemption for this show from episode 5! It was awesome to see Shishimaru get serious, and vicious even. Sure he continues to be the silly guy he was in the begining, but the heroic change hopefully is just beginning to set in.

The face-off with Tiger Joe was amazing. Last week we were introduced to the sword's ability to change form into different weapons, we saw a couple more this time. Obviously Tiger Joe is more skilled with his weapon than Lion Maru thus the beat down he got in the end. It was a really awesome battle. I hope to see more down the line.

I really enjoyed this episode, hopefully the series will keep up with more episodes like this. Hmm, I have a lot of "hopefully's" for this show.

Edit: Also forgot to mention how badass Jounosuke is. I was going to say that this show was almost worth watching just to see him kick ass, but I got sidetracked after seeing Shishimaru go crazy on the "ninjas" to rescue the girls.

Not much action but I liked episode 6. The scene where Shishimaru fends off the Shadow ninja was pretty cool, he didn't run away and tried his best to keep his boss (who I seems to be one of his few friends) from harms way. It seems both Shishimaru and Jounosuke have things they're struggling with. Shishimaru with his newfound destiny and Jounosuke with the fact that a man such as Shishimaru would have a similar chosen fate as him. I really hope to see their rivalry developed nicely.

To me the series does seem to be improving, but it would be much better if they did away completely with the forced humor. I could live with Junior's freaky cosplay antics, though I wish they'd tone it down, but enough with Haruna and Haruka, they serve no purpose and don't need to be in every episode.

This series is really boring. Whats the point? Whats the history of LM?

There's gonna be a really cool fight between Lion Maru and Tiger Joe in ep 7 so just sit tight. Shishimaru gets used to his powers of weapon changing so look forward to the fights getting better. How do I know this? Because I go to Ohara Go's (the action director) stunt club. He actually also did my fight demo which you can see here.

Now that Lion Maru G's finished, U'Den Flameworks has moved onto Sayuki. This new film's gonna be a really fresh look at the story of Journey to the West as it's gonna be a more dark and edgy version of it. Think Keita Amemiya/H.R. Giger designs for Goku, demons, etc.

But yeah, if you're expecting this show to get serious, it starts to have some moments. As for monsters, I haven't really seen any yet except for the Shadow Ninjas if they count. I actually played as one of the Shadow Ninjas in a Lion Maru G stage show/concert last week. Got really drunk afterwards with some of the bands till like...5 in the mornin'.

Sorry I haven't been able to post much about my ventures in the Rising Sun of Justice forum. Been really hectic for me these past weeks. But as you can tell, I've been havin' a rather interesting time.

Some more little tidbits:

- The suit actor for Lion Maru is the same guy who did the suit acting for the main Lead Sazer for Gransazer, Justriser, and Sazer X. I got drunk with him too.

- Yes, it is really hot inside the suit. Especially after you move around in them. And since the Shadow suits haven't been washed since the shoot (which was like...3 months ago...) they smelt like a stank ass gym locker.

- I got to square off against Tiger Joe on stage twice in front of a hundred Japanese headbangers and even the actors for Shishimaru and Tora Joe.

Sorry, I didn't get to take any videos or pics. There's a chance that I might get some on call work for some Kamen Rider stage shows though. If I get called, maybe I can have a camera then. Let's just hope.

But back on topic, yeah the fights and everythin' get better in the show, so just sit tight.

Heh, it's like every time I'm about to start turning out to this show, something always brings me back. Looking forward to it ^_^

Watched episode seven on youtube. Really enjoyed it. Glad to see Shishimaru not backing down (or rather running away) from a fight. This time actually challenging Jou. Too bad Shishimaru's still not able to best him just yet. Though, looks like there's something in Jou's past that's hopefully going to be explained, bet Gousan had something to do with it.

Really interesting (and annoying) how this Kashin Koji character shows up and keeps giving only limited insight into Shishimaru and Jou's true purpose as these chosen warriors. Wish he would just spell it out already. Although it seems they are supposed to be on the same mission, no doubt we'll see then teaming up to take on Gousan by the end of the series. At least I hope so anyway.
