Disney's attitude for team-ups was almost always "Why are we advertising old toys?" They only approved Once A Ranger under the condition that it would be the last team-up.

Since the end of Space Justin Nimmo had stopped acting :disappoin They couldn't convince him to come back.
Well, he was there -- showed up with Eric last minute. I know of no production reason why he didn't arrive with the others or we didn't see a 'recruitment' shot for him like the others. Writer's prerogative? Maybe he was just off on another adventure, doing whatever it is Ryan does.
I think Bruce just wanted to try something "new". S.P.D was kind of him turning the PR world on its ear. I don't think the budget was anymore than past two part teamups...probably less knowing Disney. It was still two parts ... just done a little differently.
Besides if they had only done one episode it would have been another "Time for Lightspeed" which was an abortion of a teamup... and I liked both teams. As it stands the two SPD/DT episodes are just slightly retarded.

At least they tried with the continuity (if you can call it that) in lieu of crossovers we got Piggy landing in Briarwood during MF and Hartford mentioning Fireheart in OO. I guess they gave up in JF.

Jungle Fury had a veiled reference that was never fully explained (most likely due to the writer's strike screwing up a chunk of the season) of where the morphers came from in the first episode.
RPM even had a Jungle Karma Pizza prior to Venjix's takeover as seen in Ranger Green, so if you want to disregard Word Of God saying RPM is it's own universe based on that alone, there's something you can point to and say it, without being totally baseless.

Not really. It was pretty obvious the previous Power Ranger teams were all defeated at that point and RPM was the final group.

Some people claim it was "modified enough so you can tell they didn't intend it to be an OO helmet but a prototype RPM (it says 'prototype' across it) without damaging a Go-On mold".
I honestly don't care but it's a hot topic amongst the whole "RPM in continuity vs. RPM out of continuity" debate.
