KyuKyu Sentai GoGo V - Talk Up!

-gasp- Kivat, you've never watched GoGo V???? You're damn right you have to watch it now.

@ Kingranger, Grandliner is a bamf mecha.

Only seen the first, or first and second. I couldn't finish for some reason.

You don't know how much unfinished bidness I have. lol

Well now is a perfect time, since you're watching Gingaman, you can go straight into GoGo V.

I think these were really cool. Golem Cards FTW! :D

Timeranger was a great series, not surprised it is a fan favorite. What did you think of it Shougo?

Eh, I'm divided on Timeranger. I like the storyline, but think it gets a little messy at the end. Like, can anybody make heads or tails about Ryuuya's deal? I like the characters (on paper), but I find the main five's actors to be really stiff and/or unlikable. The villains are also a big problem for me. I'm not fond of the designs, I find Dorunero and Lila are too jokey -- Gien's a good character, but his design and voice-actor kind of ruin it for me.

I mean, I want to like Timeranger -- especially since it's the last Sentai before Toei decided to "animefy" their shows -- but there's just things about it that I have problems with.

Thats the one thing I had a problem with, I wish they gave a bit more hints about Ryuuya's masterplan. Personally I thought the plan itself was great, but I wish they took more time on it. The characters were fine IMO, not the Tatsumi's, but I liked them. Each of them found something in the past worth saving, and I liked that.

The villians, I think were just the designers trying to make something futuristic, but morning show budget restricted them probably. I liked Dorunero, but not Lila. Lila just wanted Dorunero's money, but I liked how near the end, Dorunero shows that he was jaded with his rich-lifestyle and wanted to make amends for what he's done, particulary Gien.

I think all we really needed to know was that Ryuuya was just trying to live. Since defeating destiny was the whole point of the show. I personally don't have any problems with it. So I think Timeranger is still amongst the best of the best.

But anyway. Back to GoGoFive.

Anyone remember the ep where Matoi switches bodies with one of the Saima?

Agreed Fantasy Leader, Ryuuya just wanted to live. But destiny couldn't be avoided. Thats what made TimeRanger special. The theme of Destiny and wondering if our will has any control over that really resonates with people even today. Gotta love Timeranger.

I think Shougo knows. I havent gotten there yet....

BTW, since someone mentioned Gingaman, has anyone started subbing GoGoV?
