Kyoryuger Opinions?

personally it is my favorite Sentai in a shile, an immense improvement over Go-Busters.
great cast with nice and somewhat subtle character growth, active villains with decent individual focus and development, good plot with almost no filler episodes, top notch action and the soundtrack was epic all around.

By the time you finished watching the first episode of Kyoryuger, you knew what you were in for this year. It set out it's stall really clearly. It was red-centric, it was lighthearted and cartoonish, exciting, stuffed full of action spots and crammed with plastic crack toys. You know what? None of those things are in any way offputting for me. There's also an honesty about the show - it embraces all those aspects I've mentioned, rather than desperately trying to pretend it's 'serious business' like so many other toku do, even while when they're clearly not. What quickly became obvious about this show was that I could rely on it to bring a little lift to my Mondays with a big dose of cheer and excitement, and for that I really did love it from beginning to end.

Is Kyoryuger one of the best Sentai? Well, looking at it objectively, no. I can think of a half dozen plot points I wish that they'd expanded upon / introduced better / just not bothered with, and the suits and mecha won't ever top my favourites lists (though IMO the Gaburevelover is one of the all-time great changers). But it was certainly one of the ones I've gotten the most enjoyment from watching. That's enough to mark it out as a pretty special one, as far as I'm concerned.

I think it is difficult to come out with new idea for SUper Sentai by now. Gokaiger's pirate theme is maybe the last one that original. So, Kyoryuger, with its recycled Dinosaur theme is pretty much good, in term that it is able to give at least interesting plot on it's theme.

The positive things in Kyoryuger is they have many supporting cast that I really like. From Yayoi, Ramirez, Yuko (Ayumi Kinoshita) even to Gentle, especially in the last episodes.

With ten active rangers on board, can't really said to not like Kyoryuger. Storywise it is moderately good, it is able to keep me wanted to watch the next episodes every week.

I going to say Kyoryuger is good super sentai season.

Overall, I liked Zyuden Sentai Kyoryuger. It was A LOT of fun and had great action and characters, and that's all that mattered. It's not going down into my favourites though.

I loved all the characters but honestly, they forgot about Utchy and Ian for a lot of it. Souji got a lot of focus but his arc didn't amount to the importance that I thought it would. Nossan and Ami also kind of got the short end of the stick in the end, and Daigo, despite having the most screen-time, ending up being a bore to watch.

However, it was a treat to watch all of the Kyoryugers interact. They are amazing, lovable characters and I enjoyed that aspect. The story was good but went in directions I didn't expect... and not in a good way. Excitement was lost at times but always built back up. Mecha fights were lame but I always did enjoy the creative ground battles with some awesome roll-calls.

Overall really fun series and I definitely had a blast. :buttrock:

I just fely like rewatching Gekiranger... and was blown by pure epicness of first three episodes. They have more power in them, than the whole Kyoryuger season.
Toei really went down in latest years, didn't it?
Why can't we have awesome seasons like Gekiranger or Magiranger anymore?

IDK, Kyoryuger reminded me a lot of Magiranger sometimes with the sexism ... (although at least Magi had a bit less fanservice and the female Rangers weren't kids, so there's that)

As much as I love Gekiranger, it tried too much to show off martial arts that weren't there. Really turned me off from the action in that series.

I enjoyed it as well. A solid 8/10

I liked that for once, most of the elements in the show were given an explanation and such. Allthough, the earth's melody and such should have been mentioned a little earlier than halfway into the series. :)

This is pretty much my only negative point about the series and it certainly wasn't as bad as a lot of other seasons have been for it. I think it would have helped a lot of Yayoi got to be a fulltime team member, instead of just a recurring guest. Even if most of her story stuff came from drooling over Daigo, she probably would have had more room to grow if she appeared more frequently. I liked the idea of a team member going from being the reserved scientist type, to a full on kickass fighter. Even if that's a bit generic for a female character, she did at least get some really good action scenes and got to be a colour besides white/pink, blue or yellow.

I agree with all of this. It also annoyed me that ultimately, Amy's character is all about Daigo - her initial conflict did not set up a realised character arc of her own, it was just there to build her up as the perfect girl for Daigo. The ending of the show has soured me to it and I don't know why. I wasn't interested in Shinya for instance and I generally don't care about how good a show's writing is if I find it fun, but when Shinya showed up in the finale for about thirty seconds and then vanished never to be heard from again, it did make me wonder why I was bothering to watch-!
