KR X SS: Superhero Taisen Movie - Talk Up! [THREAD TITLE FIXED TO BE MORE CLEAR]

I was having this discussion elsewhere and yeah, I came to that. Sure it didn't make total sense. And with such larger than life characters there NO WAY it could have.

But it was non-sense that kept happening in the *service* of showing me awesome confrontations that I *wanted* to see. Like, I got to see classic and neo Riders and Rangers throw down and that was a delight for my eyes and senses.

Diend's turn was in the service of showing me something I DID NOT want to see! Diend the entire movie and the cameos I've seen of him up to this point just made him pretty freaking beloved. So, his turn showed me what I didn't want to see at all, and instead showed me beloved characters wrecking the **** of another beloved character who suddenly was an ultimate evil! I want to see the height of evil and darkness get what was coming to them. NOT someone that was a pretty inspiring bro to me this entire film!

It took a pretty grand finish and beatdown and just made it in to a whole lot of something I don't want to watch. :disappoin

I powerfully unsatisfying climax kinda really undid so much of what I was liking up to that point. Kinda like Battlestar Galactica. I enjoyed that show SO MUCH and the last 15 minutes just kinda blew up in my face tainting so much that'd come before it.

So yeah... while I liked it more than most, that ending REALLY fucked me up. :(

I feel the same, tho not just about the ending. I rarely feel this way bout these films or series, but you summed up how I feel about this film.

Three things about this film:

1) A side-effect of these movies that people might not think of is that it's doing some harm to the reputations of the classic villains as well.

For example: As someone who's never seen him before, I was curious when the reveal of Silva being in the movie got such an excited reaction. Then the film comes out, all he does is mutter, "blahblah particles HAKAI HAKAI HAKAI!" and I'm just left thinking, "Man, this guy's actually pretty lame."

2) I can't believe that when they had the monsters grow big they didn't at least have Kamen Rider J fighting alongside Go-Buster Oh. "Gets Big" is all J is known for!

3) Diend's sudden heel turn is stupid but given he does the exact same thing at the end of Decade's TV series maybe Kaitou just has this occasional, irresistible impulse to backstab his friends.

I can't believe people are still trying to save this movie.

It's Super Hero Taisen. Or better abbreviated as:

"SHT"

How fitting.

It was made for a quick buck, but the part that sucks is that the crew basically wiped their ass with this movie and gave less of a "SHT" about it. Sakamoto was probably approached to helm this, but considering that he was doing MegaMax and the Fourze TV series, I highly doubt that he'd have the time to do it. Besides, he's probably a smart man knowing that Shirakura was the one producing it.

All in all, the movie is a piece of SHT and come next year, the Fourze movie will wash away that horrible SHT aftertaste. I live in Japan, I've watched both movies. Hence, I am right.

And now, let us once again watch my message from the future.

That ending was retconned. To where Decade just fought the other riders like the opening scene in episode 1. So really Kaito didn't do that because they couldn't find a reason why he would.

Tooootally disagree.

In the end, it still comes down to one's opinion if this movie is either good or bad. Since some of us enjoyed it, despite it's "faults". It's mostly because we have to see it for ourselves, besides take someone's review of it as face value.

Well said, Wing Saber. Again... I really did enjoy all the spectacle and sincerely hope for more..... just don't turn someone built up to be so beloved in to OUT OF NOWHERE the ultimate bad guy! :shakefist

I am open to brainless and stupid fun IF... If.. It's a little enjoyable. This was the first toku movie like this(The VS stuff) that I just couldn't stand. The characters they picked to have in it for the majority didn't do anything for me. The action scenes were pretty boring over all save for parts of the final battle. Having Diend suddenly want to go all I WILL KILL YOU ALL.. Was just so out of place for his character in the movie and over all.

He's more fun in Bioman when he's being a 3rd individual party against the Bioman and Gear.
