What does the "1986 EB" that was stamped on Kotaro's dad actually means? It could be seen after the Prof fell down from the tower scene.

It's supposed to be his Gorgom ID number, sort of like a dog tag/identifier. I think the idea was that it's branded/burned into his arm too.

Yeah, it's a Gorgom brand. The implication being that he was no longer a man but a number. Kotaro's adoptive father basically sold out. But still sort of odd since you never see them do that to someone or see anyone else with it in the entire series.

I've also often wondered why Gorgom necessarily needed cyborgs and tech when they clearly have magic at their disposal. It's not something that takes anything away from my enjoyment of the show, just a thought I had.

There's a possibility that Prof. Akizuki met some members of the Wonderful Aozora Organization including its top honchos. The professor may have also seen Otoya at some point and witnessed the latter's dancing skills which have now become a legend among tokusatsu's circle of fans and forums.

Yes, even Professor Sakata used biochemical means to effect his mutations. Besides, how do we know that Golgom's power isn't technological in nature? Just maybe carbon based instead...

Also, the term for the KRs is "kaizo ningen", which if I understand correctly means something like "customized human". I remember a marvel comics role playing game where a class of hero is "altered human" which means he was normal but turned into superpowered form by radiation, chemical means, whatever. The game distinguished between altered humans and high-tech wonders but if a guy is cyborgized, I guess he is a combination high-tech wonder/altered human, as opposed to Iron Man who is pure high tech wonder... (unless of course you count his heart as a cyborg part...)
