Still, Haruto knows by now that the White Wizard is dangerous AND that Yuzuru didn't want to be a Wizard.

It almost feels like they invented Yuzuru - not so much for White Wizard's plot (because they could have just used one less number) - but to finally give Beast some proper motivation... but it's backfired horribly, because, for all intents and purposes, Haruto should care just as much as, if not more than Beast about someone being forced into this supposedly horrible fate - after all, he's been living it and knows just how "bad" it is.

I took it as Haruto leaving it to the others while he protected the gate. Kousuke made it very clear he was going after White Wizard despite Haruto's personal connection and he knew Rinko was looking into it.

I think that's giving the show too much credit. Haruto didn't even act like he cared - he literally just sat down for tea.

That's something you say as a joke. "Oh, someone was kidnapped and another person might be dead? Sounds like a good time for tea!"

You don't actually do it.

Also, I'm sure Haruto was conflicted about the White Wizard and Yuzuru, but Haruto wasn't present when it was decided by Mayu, Nitoh, and Rinko to track down White Wizard. By that point in time Haruto was already protecting the Gate.

And furthermore, I don't think the show ever established that Haruto considered White Wizard a foe, even after that. The thing Haruto was pissed about was Kizaki's kidnapping, which Rinko was already investigating. At the beginning of Ep. 42, Nitoh tells Haruto that even though White Wizard helped him become Wizard, he won't take it easy on him because of his kidnapping of Yuzuru. Haruto just kind of looks to the side uncomfortably.

Also, I feel like the last horse to cross the finish line since I didn't figure out a Koyomi was dead until this episode. >_< Damn. Should've guessed that back in episode 10 or so when I figured out White Wizard was Wiseman.

Also, the next arc is written by Junko Koumura. Is it just me, or does he seem to handle a lot of important arcs? He does it well though

Junko Koumura is a woman, and with her, it feels like her writing quality is dependent of the writer she is working with, in this case Kida who isn't that great of a writer. But overall her writing has been kind of meh when working on Wizard, definitely a downgrade from her writing works in Akibaranger.
