Kamen Rider Wizard EP 33 - "Things Money Can't Buy"

This was one of those episodes that you could skip through most of it and it wouldn't matter. Just a boring throw away ep.

Since when can Sora use the Force? It seems like all the Phantoms are proto-Wizards
I'm sure he's used his paralysing ability before. And yeah there are a few "wizardy" things about him. If you look a few weeks back when he produced a sword in his fight with Wizard, it was shaped very much like a hand-less WizarSwordGun.
Haruto cleverly getting out of the situation is cool and in character. Thanks for pointing that out.
Another little moral for the kiddies. It doesn't matter how lucky or unlucky you may be, you can overcome it if you show some determination

Well, it finally came These two episodes are Wizard's equivalent to the two Hajimes Blade episode, the food contest Kabuto episode, and the movie director episodes to W. They were awful and the fight scenes were terrible. It's like the stuntmen were out of town or something and they had amateurs in costume for these episodes. This is also clearly one of those instances where the two episode format does not work all of the time, as this plot should have been a single episode instead of being dragged out into two. I hope to the gods we never have to suffer through this garbage again for the rest of the show.

Wizard 33:

- It would have been nice if Gremlin had started out as a low-ranking Phantom under Phoenix, Medusa, and Legion among others, and then with their deaths managed to finagle his way to a position above Medusa's, rather than just happening to go from high to higher. He could have fulfilled through himself the dreams of Metalder's Hedogross and Kuuga's Zu Gooma Gu :P

- I don't know who is more annoying, Gremlin or Candelira.

- That old woman looks like one of my aunts.

- I'll grant the shopping cart and trash can-on-head gags, but the rest of the scene is stupid. There's no point. Just have a straight fight where the monster manipulates the hero's movements standard fare.

- No "Shabadoobie" singing belt this time! :buttrock:

- Rider Kick comeback.

I think this episode could have replaced the last one and be a one-part deal. There was no reason to drag this out two episodes, and this one had some better ideas than 32 that, with some better writing, could have gone somewhere.

The Riders take on the vice of human greed in another okay episode of Wizard!

- This, to me, has been the weakest arc of Wizard bar none. Usually for a Wizard arc, any negative factors I find in the episode are outnumbered by positive factors but that was most definitely not the case here. Tsuchiya was not the best Gate and considering his actions in this episode I can't find myself really caring for his friendship with Kosuke. I'd have rather we had an arc growing the Haruto/Kosuke bromance than Kosuke risking his life to save his supposed "best friend" from his own mistakes. The wackiness also worked against this episode, and made it hard to take anything about it seriously. For Sentai, that can work, but usually not for Rider and that was the case here. At least the next arc is going to be written by Kida though Ishibashi is coming back after that... hopefully he can bring a better game than he did here.

- I admit, I did find Haruto screaming like a little girl during his first bout of bad luck against Hobgoblin pretty funny. Then it all started getting repetitive. And then it started happening to the Dragon Forms. Yeah. But as a bonus, we did get the Rider Kicks of each Dragon Form. Just a shame they had to appear in such a weak arc.

- All things considered, the best part of this arc was Kosuke. The dudes an awesome bro, even when he shouldn't have to be. At least he was able to finish off Hobgoblin, so I guess it evens out.

- Can't wait next time for more focus on Gremlin, a woman who piques his interests, and the Riders trying to help him!?
