Kamen Rider Beast arrives in another awesome episode of Wizard!
- Beast's debut and first fight was pretty good. He maintains the Second Rider trait of no form changes and reliance on external armaments. Speaking of, I'm liking his half-cape, and it makes an excellent contrast to Wizard's longcoat. I also like how he makes up for his lack of different forms with the different abilities his Mantles give him, abilities that even Wizard doesn't have access to.
- As for Kosuke, he's... interesting. He's like a middle ground between Second Rider archetypes, the antagonistic jerk and the friendly goofball, which definitely helps to set him apart from past Second Riders. He's not a bad guy, but he's not in the business of being a Kamen Rider to help people, it's all for his own sake. Kosuke's just a normal guy stuck in a fight with the Phantoms, and with little idea towards the finer points of the battle. So as a whole, I'd say I like Beast though there's still room for him to grow on me. He certainly makes a nice contrast to Haruto, as all Second Riders should.
- Jeez, the Movie openings lasted a lot longer than I thought they would... I wonder what will change in the Opening once it goes back to normal? Having Beast in there would make sense, and maybe a shot of Wiseman?
- Can't wait next week for the Land stone, Medusa confronting Kosuke, and Wizard vs. Beast!
