Kamen Rider Wizard, Ep 1 - "The Wizard Uses Rings"

I think Haruto will end up similar to Marvelous in that his cool atittude is just... an atittude. It won't really get in the way of his character or lead him to do actions that will place the viewers against them. It's just how he chooses to present himself and nothing more.

I see where you are coming from though Haruto didn't strike me as having that damn glib smugness and indifference that Marvelous had.

Since there is a Phantom already inside of him I wonder if he has to hold on to hope and be really self-assured in it because if it ever wavers even slightly he'll be lost. The process will simply begin and destroy him from the inside out like it almost did Rinko. Maybe the Phantom is even gnawing at him to give in to despair. Kind of like having Dan Didio trapped in your skull.

Whatever hope he had during the eclipse might be the one and only thing that's keeping this from happening.

Be warned though. Show is deceptive. You might think it's a cute magical girl show, than one of the girl get's her head gruesomely bitten of and **** hit's the fan... grimdark, grimdark everywhere. BTW the reason I don't watch it... angsty grimdark drama that tries to shock you by murdering and torturing children psychologically is not my thing, you see.

Talking about Puella Magi Madoka Magica by the sounds of it. I love it but I love When They Cry more.

Anyways, I ended up rewatching the first episode of Wizard. It felt better the second time I watched it, the first time just felt weird for some reason. I still think that the actors didn't do a great job at some parts and some of their lines were either really weird sounding (not the subtitles) or really quiet.

We obviously disagree on Marvelous, but he was (at least at the start) supposed to be more of an anti-hero, whereas Haruto's a conventional hero so it's not as ... exaggerated? Marvelous pretended he didn't really want to save anyone but Haruto, from the start, is all "COME AT ME PHANTOMS I WILL STRIKE YOU DOWN"

Interesting. Maybe they can do that if somehow Haruto doesn't save someone from becoming a Phantom.

Or we could see Haruto being sadden by it, but accepts that he can't save everyone.

The chances of Wizard being anything like Madoka are pretty low and I don't think it would translate well to a Kamen Rider series. If they did it, it would only be to attract the huge Madoka fanbase and that's not too smart of a move.

Wiseman probably won't show up until the end of the series like most of the recent Rider villians and its probably going to be who everyone expects him to be.

Acts as a speaker to cast spells and invoke magic, it is needed to cut down the need to use long incantations by reconfiguring them into simple codes of speech.

Coordination Unit for tuning the magic of the wizard, Haruto.
Absorbs Haruto's magic from the portion of contact, it also, with magical power, can amplify the ring has been released from Wizard's activities as a source of energy.

Cuerdas Band
Fixed to the waist belt of the wearer the wizard driver.
Made of a special silver alloy called Sosariumu that is charming and refined, yet has a high strength.

Sealing Drum
Exterior sealing that protects the Grimoire Stone.
Because it is made of Sosariumu, it has the strength to withstand external impact as well as suppress powerful magic.

Hand Author
Used to free the magical power and activate the magic stone, which emits a unique vibration, that is stored inside.
Must be switched to the right when the left to release the Shabadubi and Lupachi rings.

Shift Lever
Used to switch the Author's position

Sting
Safety device.
Prevents the destruction of the driver due to excess magic from amplifying, the magic is discharged to the outside.

Rider Release
Used to force Haruto out of the Wizard transformation.

Wow, this is great stuff! This looks like how someone trained in traditional science would adapt magical techniques. Wizard is getting more fascinating by the minute. Now, if they keep the murder count low, and try to find some way to reverse the Phantom transformations, and save the human hosts, that would be great!
