[Video Game] Kamen Rider SummonRide (PS3/Wii U)

Is the Wii U region locked?
In other words; can I play this?

Yeah the WiiU version is for Japanese consoles only.

So I encountered a few new enemies last night: Leangle, Ixa in burst mode, Saga, N Daguba, TheBee, and Kaixa.

Also a pretty cool thing, I was fighting Weather dopant and right before I got him to half health I used my upgrade chip while playing as Drive and went into type wild. After I hit weather a couple times and it triggered a cut scene, and in the cutscene Drive was shown in type wild instead of speed, which I thought was pretty sweet!

So it's literally Battle Ride War with Skylanders right?

It looks okay, but those two original characters and the whole Crystal World thing kinda sticks out to me as not being very Kamen Ridery.

it's more Skylanders than Battride War TBH, there's not much BW resources or gameplay that is used aside from character models and basic special attacks, you can't even jump or cancel your combos here

as for the three(yes, there are three original characters...so far) original characters and the whole feel of the world makes me think that this is a rejected/canceled PreCure game that they don't want to part with, and so they reused a BW's resources to make it a KR game instead

Nah, the original characters and the Crystal Word still won't fit in a PreCure game for me. They fit more for a fantasy RPG. By the way, since the owl is voiced by Jouji Nakata, I kinda hope Roshuo appear in this game.

That would explain why those characters and the setting just feels so out of place to me.

so...anyone beat the game yet? is it short? does it have any other mode than story?, can we even use custom BGM in this?

I'm waiting on my other figures to arrive before I play any more of it, so far there's 3 worlds to play missions in (wind, water, fire) and I can see off in the distance on the main game area that there's another area containing the light and dark worlds. Withtin each one of the elemental worlds there's 3 mission types. Normal, "Challenge" (don't know the actual name) where more enemies spawn, they do more damage, and you usually fight more than one boss, as well as Defense/Survival (again, I doubt that's the actual name) where's you have like 3 minutes to defend these 3 giant crystals from kaijin mobs, the three crystals and placed in different areas of the stage so you have to run between them.

I can't speak for overall length because I haven't beaten it yet, but it doesn't seem super long. As far as custom BGM, this is where the game falls short of the BW series for me. I'm fine with no bikes or rider cancel, but there's NO Kamen Rider music in this game! The generic adventure music is fine, I haven't gotten tired of it, and it's not overall intrusive, but you'd think a game with Kamen Riders might at least have, their main theme songs? Other than the "SummonRide" song in the opening sequence, there's no songs with even lyrics in this game. Now granted, I don't read or speak Japanese, so there's always that chance I'm completely wrong about this, but I've seen no evidence to convince me otherwise.

Other than expanding the number of playable Riders, I think a great addition to this game would be additional stages/modes via figure pieces like Skylanders. I'd love to see them make a thing where there was a bike racing mode, because I don't exactly miss using the bike during actual stages ala BW, I found them kinda hard to ride and not super useful particularly, but if I could race the computer or my friends, that'd be a different story entirely.

Within the next couple of days I should get SR01-SR06 and once I do I'll post a little review of each of the Riders and how they play compared to each other and their BW counterparts.

i see, well, what i would like to know the most is whether or not can you finish the game with just the starter pack that the game is bundled with, i'm not really interested in buying characters/figures that were already available to play in BW2 for free, especially since from what the video displayed so far, they didn't try to add new/more effective moves to BW riders that lacks them (namely, Wizard, which is playable from the get go since they gave you that for free), which means they either play the exact same, or worse.

So far I haven't come to any gates that impede finishing the stage. Any gates I've found have only been for getting extra crystals and crafting items stuff, or they'd sometimes open a more direct route to the stage boss.
