Kamen Rider Ryuki - Talkback

I had very few issues with Ryuki...probably the only main one was that the only time we ever saw all 13 riders was in the tv special...I did prefer the tv show's ending, but would have liked to have seen the evil Shinji in the show.

on a totally side note...Did Scissors remind anyone of one of the monsters from Agito? I am sure it was a re-use of costume...lol

I'm not even joking. Ren Kiriyama even did an interview once where he said Ohja was his favorite Heisei Kamen Rider!

...Does he explain why? Doing the math he had to be 17 when Ryuki came out, so...

Ok, that explains it.

Yeah his wish is to bring back a single person. Talk about a wasted wish.

Huh? He didn't do that. In the end every single person came back and the whole Rider mess never happened. So not only did his girlfriend come back, but so did Shinji, Tezuka, Kitaoka, even Asakura! Not so sure about the last one, but whatever.

Yeah but I think that was because the brother and sister made up and all was well.

I think it's better to have Ren win the fight and use his wish wisely.

Again...that TV ending pissed me off...cause it was just a cop-out reset. Even after watching the whole series several times...it still irks the hell out of me. Not to mention they "killed" off the "title" character before the finale.

Would've been better if...

"Shinji...if you really want end this meaningless war..."

*Yui opens herself up*

"...kill me."

"Yui...I CAN'T!!!"

Yes it's corny but who cares...beats the ending we got...ALL FOUR OF THEM...too bad Ryuki vs. Agito's ending doesn't count.

What the hell was with all the Agito cameos in the movie? I'm not used to that at all.

How many Heisei Rider movies have you seen? From Ryuki through Kiva cast members from the last show would make cameos in the current show's movie. The only exception I can think of is Hibiki's 7 War Demons. I don't know if anyone from Kuuga appeared in Project G4 either.

Speaking of Agito, the Hyper Battle video was bleh outside of Ouja being amazingly out of character. I still think Kabuto's is the best Hyper Battle video I've seen so far.

The Hibiki, Kabuto, Den-O and Kiva HBVs are almost all rehashes of the same plot: how the kid in the audience can be a Rider in the silliest of ways. While I'll admit Kabuto's was the best of those four, I think Kuuga, Ryuki, Faiz and Blade had better ones.

Honestly, I think HBVs and Net Movies are wasted. The Decade one and LGKR and SHT's Net Movies could have been used to squeeze in past Rider cameos that the movies themselves didn't have. That would have at least been coming part way.

And now being 100% done, the Mirror World is still confusing. Supposedly the ghost of Shirou created it, but at the same time the world existed when he and Yui were kids. How does that make sense? With how everything was leading up, it looked like Shirou invented the world with SCIENCE and was by default lord and master over it. From there it makes perfect sense that the monsters are based on their childhood drawings and actively serve and protect Yui when she's nearby.

The Mirror World always existed, as Yui was aware of it as a child. When was it said Kanzaki created it? He simply found a way to access it in Lab 401 and then somehow gained power to manipulate it.

I think the "monsters based on drawings" was actually added in later; it seemed more like the kids drew pictures of Monsters they saw and then for some reason it was decided to reverse that. Drawing what you see would make much more sense.

How exactly does the Rider War's outcome result in the winner getting a wish? How does that work?

I'll give the movie credit for retconning a few things, because the idea that the Rider War was based on a lie is much more plausible and interesting.

It was always a lie. Kanzaki had the game rigged so that Odin would kill the last Rider and then use that "life" to save Yui. Maybe the Rider's death would emit the same "force" that emerged whenever a Monster died and he would use that? But Kanzaki never intended for anyone other than himself to win in the end.

My guess has been for the longest time that they ran overbudget on the main show and didn't have the proper funds to make the other suits until much later on.

I'm also convinced that Blank Form and Ryuga weren't intended to be "just repaints"
