Kamen Rider Ryuki Talk-Up

I personally LOVED Ryuki. It was the second Rider series that I finished, and I loved the concept of Riders fighting one another. Plus the motifs were pretty sweet, especially Verde! The series needed more Verde. As for the ending, I liked it, I wasn't in love with it, but it didn't ruin the series for me.

If you could enlighten me on that

I quote:

I like how Shinji kept trying to defy every command given by Kanzaki and deciding to choose his own path rather than fall in line with everyone else. It's like a man's decision to defy God, Destiny, Faith, whatever the bars at, and to make his own path. I think it struck Kanzaki a bit as to how it's even possible. To simply tell himself after going through time jumping to just punch Odin, even if it's just once. To knock the sense back into God and that you're not gonna act in his play.

It's also a good display of willpower from Shinji. Never giving up till the very end, and to let a friend have his wish.

I don't like the ending because at the end Kobayashi decided that this (and alot of other things that makes Ryuki characters interesting) doesn't matter, the strongest push for Kanzaki's decision is Yui, not Shinji, or any other character. 52 episodes all for zero result for characters other than Kanzaki.

I think the best Ryuki Ending is the SIC Hero Saga one, but that's probably just because I really like the Shinji-Ren duo. Like the TV, this ending also throws alot of things out of the window....

How did the SIC story end?

After some nonsense about Ryuki turning into Ryuga and massacring all the other riders (except Knight who played dead using trick vent until the very end), the last two remaining riders are Shinji and Ren. The story ended when they started fighting; The last sentence goes something like: the winner of this fight didn't matter. The winner, holding the loser's dead body, states his wish to revive the other. The story ended with the winner calling Odin for the final match.

This ending at least gives some sort of result to all the Ren-Shinji character building, while the TV ending is just sorta... well, Ren would've done the same thing he did had he not gone through the whole series. I think I would have less of a problem if Ren actually wished to reset, because he think that Shinji's sacrifice is too great / this whole battle is nonsense.

Okay, I'm about almost done with the series and I couldn't be more excited

The music is killer, the storylines are epic, and the cards are.......dare I say....orgasmic (I FUCKING LOVEEEEEEE Nasty Vent)

What's everyone's general thoughts on the series?

I know it generally gets a bad rap for having a completely bogus ending that usually ends up ruining the show as a whole for people

Agree, i loved Ryuki, loved the Music/BGM, Kamen Rider Ouja was a Kick ass Rider. Tons of Riders, Rider vs Rider. Ouja Stealing Contract Monsters, just a Awesome series.

I never EVER understood why Shiro gave Asakura 3 contract cards

that seemed horribly unfair, but then again, so was Gaia's deck

He had the best cards next to Zolda and Knight

Since when is Kanzaki concerned about fairness? It's certainly not fair that so many people were killed or went missing due to his Game. And he also gave Tezuka and Shinji Survive Cards while ignoring the others. Kanzaki was concerned with results, not with making a level playing field. Giving Asakura an edge (even making him a Rider at all) would spur the Game on further and encourage the players to fight harder.
