And this is the kind of response that Pisses me off. Like those die hard eva fans. If you tell them you didn't like eva You get "YOU JUST DIDN'T GET THE DEEP MEANING BEHIND IT". I hate to break it to you, but some people just didn't like the ending. It has nothing to do with understanding it or not.
I'm not gonna continue to add fire, but it's just a wonder. What is it that people didn't like about the ending? I mean, sure, it reseted everything, so basically nothing happened. But if you DID get the "DEEP MEANING BEHIND IT, ZOMFG!!!", then why is it that when it comes time to tell why some people didn't like it, they all just say "because it reseted". I mean, if you did get the message, isn't it supposed to make a difference on what you think? I mean sure, I'd be pissed as hell if Kanzaki reseted everything without a cause, but I haven't seen anyone tell us WHAT about the cause behind the reset made it so that they still didn't like it.
If you could enlighten me on that, I would appreciate it because I think it's very touching what a brother will do for his sister.
Now, to throw my own opinion in, I think it is Kobayashi's only true masterpiece to date, not counting OOO since that hasn't even gone anywhere much into the real story. I like how Shinji kept trying to defy every command given by Kanzaki and deciding to choose his own path rather than fall in line with everyone else. It's like a man's decision to defy God, Destiny, Faith, whatever the bars at, and to make his own path. I think it struck Kanzaki a bit as to how it's even possible. To simply tell himself after going through time jumping to just punch Odin, even if it's just once. To knock the sense back into God and that you're not gonna act in his play.
It's also a good display of willpower from Shinji. Never giving up till the very end, and to let a friend have his wish.
