It was stranger looking in the reflections seen in windows and mirrors, seeing the usual masses going about their usual business in the reflection, but being totally alone. Thats how it was on the other side simply known as the Mirror World, which much to the suprise of some was a puratory of sorts where certain souls were gathered for the opportunity to earn another chance at life in a game known as the Ressurection Trial. No one who participated in the game ever understood it's origins or even how long this had been going on, they just knew the rules and conditions set before them.
As always not a soul was around as Kyle walked around in the mirror world, looking for mirror monsters to slay while waiting to be approached with a mission by one of the mysterious Mirror Guides. All while he wandered randomly he kept his advent deck, known as the Abyss Deck in his right hand so he could transform at a moments notice, on this side it always wise to be prepared for a conflict, wether it was from a monster or a fellow rider looking to gain some quick points you would have to be able to transform at a moment's notice. On the plus side on this side of the mirror people had no need to eat, sleep or even use the bathroom thus making it that much more easier to remain on your guard. So far Kyle hadnt ran into any other riders in his time in the game , something he was rather greatful for. He wasnt really comfortable of erasing someone else, after all they could deserve another chance just as much as him, at the same time he knew not all riders thought like him and he was naturally unsure of if he could trust any of them.
If it werent for some of the circumstances Kyle might actually enjoy his situation, in some ways it was sort of a dream come true. He had the ability to become a powerful warrior and fight off creatures which preyed on humans, in a sense he was like the super heroes he idolized when he was alive, but the fact that he was dead and fighting to live again made it somewhat bittersweet. In a strange way it made the hero like experience more authentic, after all many heroes had rather dark origins involving a tragedy and were faced with dilemmas similar to his with the other riders. Maybe he would one day write about his days here, after all he would retain the memories of what happened here since part of the game was living with the decisions you made to get revived in the end, chances are it would be an entertaining graphic novel that could earn some money if he managed to gain his second chance.
"You know you really should make better use of your free time." a young man, dressed in a what looked like a business suit, said as he approached. Morris was always the type to dress overly formal, mostly to impress women. Seemed only natural his mirror world doppelganger would do the same. "Monsters all over, a few riders that probably deserve to have their soulds erased. An early lead certainly wouldnt hurt in this game you know."he said in response to Kyle's seemingly zoned out state. The game had only recently begun, and only a few easy challenges had been given, as such it didnt seem like any of the riders were on the fast track to ressurection.
"I could, but rather than waste energy chasing them down I prefer to wait for the challenges and cash in on the big points." he explained, trying to give a reason for his current listlessness. It was a rather half-assed and not very convincing one though, as things like tiredness, hunger and even the need to relieve one's self were pretty much nonexistent on this side of the mirror.
"I've been here long enough to know how this plane of existence works, so dont try fooling me. Anyway it's game time." he explained. "A number of mirror monsters are about to be unleashed, among them is one particularly strong beast, your objective is to erase it before the other riders do. As always any other kills you make will be added to your total score and the erasure of other riders is very much encouraged. Gotta remember, even if manty accumulate a high score only a few can achieve ressurection." he said before dissolving into mist.
Other riders..... he knew they would be coming along some time, for the early stage of the game the riders were more or less kept from encountering each other in order to give the players a fair chance of learning the game and getting aquainted with their new power. This challenged seemed to be the end of all of that, now the game was truely going to begin. He couldnty say he looked forward to it, as it would likely be an end to feeling like some kind super hero. He had to wonder, just what were the others like? Morris had said that they were people of all kinds, some good, some totally psycho, and some in between.
Soon the mirror world would be crawling not only with mirror monstersbut also with other riders all gunning for the same target. "I better get suited up them." he said as he briefly turned to a window and held out his Advent Deck, causing a belt to appear on his waist. He proceeded to slide the deck into an appropriately sized slot on the belt, causing a pair of semi transparent reflections to envelop him, and form into the solid form of Kamen Rider Abyss. Now it was just a matter of waiting for the official start of the mission.
