I noticed the symbol thing on the very first Yummy we saw (the mantis one) and the Greeed, but I haven't noticed what others have mentioned about the Dopants and Gaia Memories

Also the Mantis is only one gets destroyed in one episode.

Eh... they are just re-using costume parts.... IMHO....

I even posted a picture of Mezul's belt and asked which belt buckle it looked like...

Mezuru's and the other Greeed's belts look like Ichigo and Nigo's belts to me. Except their obviously missing the windmill on the inside.

To me, it looks like the slots in the belt buckles are for medals...an ancient prototype for the OOO belt, maybe?

i really have this feeling that those belts worn by the Greeds have some big purpose...

I don't see a point. It seems that the incomplete combos are just stepping stones towards the complete forms, it's just parts swapping, not creating new abilities with new combinations. Apart from TaToBa, I don't see how any form bar the complete has any significance.
