Still human greed in the end. Greed for possessions, greed for love, feelings, money and the list pretty much goes on. It has potential to become a grim dark series actually.

I really like how Kobayashi is handling the Core Medal and Cell Medals concept. The Core Medals were what the Gaia Memories weren't, they are a source of unlimited power and it really gives a sense of real danger and fear. Both the Gaia Memories and Cell Medals rely on one's greed, but in OOO's case, the greed of human manifests itself in a yummy, which is basically a reflection of the victim and their greed. A monster, which is all greed is. At anytime, Kazari, Uva or Mezuru could come out of nowhere, pop a medal, and monster that reflected our individual avarice would appear, and started to covet what we covet, food, money, dare I say it? Sex? Though that'll never happen.

I want to eat sex. 0_0

Well if you're looking for the darker stuff that will never appear in OOO, I suggest Garo though you already must've seen it already. I think they did cover sex in one of the episode's, though it was more of sex as an appeal rather than what other people are thinking of :P

Oh it does (and I was half-kidding in that post).

Technically, Eiji has a greed as well. The greed of wanting to protect too much. I think he hasn't been overtaken because of his simplicity and that he hasn't truly failed yet. The day he pushes himself too hard or someone dies because he couldn't do anything, we may see another side of him.

Of course, this is all speculation.

I've seen that episode before! That's the one where Eiji learns of a bunch of students deaths and is pushed so far that he beats the **** out of the Hedgehog Yummy and we get the first glimpse of Black eyed Ultim.....

Hahaha! It really does. Well, some of us did get a Kuuga vibe from the very first episode, and some even said they find Eiji to be a combination of Shouichi, Godai and bits of Shinji.
