(hence why there are a small handful of people making Den-O comparisons to OOOs at this moment)

I wouldn't say that's the only reason -- I had no idea it was the same head writer. But I did feel like the writing/pacing was very similar to Den-O.

The main guy [forgive me, I've watched it once and hadn't read the rumors prior to it starting] reminds me a lot of Ryou. Very aloof, the scene with the wall coming down was pretty much Ryou getting his bike stuck in the tree. Him finding/getting the coin was pretty much Ryou getting/finding the pass. The girl already reminds me of Hana and all we've seen her do is pick up a vending machine.

The main baddies do indeed remind me of the Imagin, the way they interact and the colors also how they use people. Although I admit the group scene also made me think of Kuuga.

The form/powers = the monsters coins remind me of how the Imagin were utilized and of course the actual possession.

The theme also comes off very Climax Jump-ish.

Then it also comes down to the visuals for me (being a graphic artist) the waving of a secondary object in front of the belt to have it light up/play a tune (Knuckle = Rider Pass) and the henshin graphics themselves remind me of Den-O.

I'm not saying these things are unique to Den-O but when you put them all together at once, yeah -- it just reminds me very much of Den-O.

We'll have to see where the series goes but I have a hard time believe people can't see the similarities in at least the first episode.

I like the Kogami dude. An oracle/prophet like character? That'd be intresting, good contrast between the mob boss Ryubei and prophet like Kogami.

The city not having a name is not a new thing for KR.
Most Rider series take place in "Generic Large Japanese City" even though it's mostly filmed in Tokyo. I can think of a few exceptions (Kuuga, Kabuto).

Fuuto was in many ways a character in it's own right, so it needed a name.

I loved how in the first series they didn't give it a fictional name, they just called it what it really was- Tokyo. It should be done again.

for some reason i get this feeling that W was like all Showa series put together, while OOO will be all Heisei series feel... just my two cents

W has a lot of ''Showa Riders'' in it. OOO has all of ''Heisei'' in it. The next Rider celebrates the 4th anniversary and has all the elements

I thought you meant Murasame Ryou/Kamen Rider ZX for a moment.


I loved Eiji, he comes off as the guy that travels a lot, but this time is different because he doesn't come off as a loner too, he seems happy enough with the world and has no problem helping people at all.
Notice how the Inui Takumi comparisons went to hell by this point.

Now he's compared with Yuusuke. I can see why, and this is not a bad thing at all. The actor is doing a great job as well, looks like another great lead.

And I'm actually looking forward to the cosplay cafe.

The first scene I'll admit too is kinda Ryou-ish, but later scenes prove that he's kinda more of a Shouichi and some people say Godai kinda guy. I mean he is in the heat-of-the-moment kinda guy, and willing to save people he doesn't even know. Now I haven't seen enough of Den-o to pass judgement on Ryotaro, but he was nothing like that.

You know what's funny? I think Ankh is how we expected Philip to be. Kinda evil, kinda not and completely ambiguous.

Granted Phil was like that for a little but you know what I mean.
