I can't help but wonder how Kougami and this new fellow have managed to get ahold of Core and Cell medals before the release of the Greeed, if they were all sealed within that casket-thingy we saw in the first episode.

Then again, Ankh was apparently outside the casket and was able to release his fellows (either that, or he did it on accident while taking the seal/belt), so I suppose some of the medals were left outside the casket when the Greeed were sealed?

The Kougami ancestry were the keepers.... So, if they had been in charge 800 years back with sealing the Greeeds with the help of OOO, then they would at least have some of the core/cell medals and passed on to the next generations...

But if that's the case and Kougamis partook in the original sealing of the Greeed, Ankh should at least remember the name "Kougami" shouldn't he? Or maybe having so few Cores somehow affects his mind as well, hmm.

Its been 800 years though. Perhaps the Kougami family stumbled upon the legends of the Greed and their medals and decided to pick up the torch.

We know there are more core medals out there, and we know that Ankh doesn't hold all the medals for the now released Greeds either. There's a good chance other greeds managed to escape and take those medals with them.

It could be like the Akumajo Dracula series in which there are a few clans that descend from the main Belmont Clan.

I get the feeling Foundation X were the ones to get ahold of the medals from that one W episode where the woman had a pic of the on her scanner. But only time will tell at this point.
