Kaixa sent one of the creatures staggering back with a roundhouse kick, sending him skidding back. He had little time to rest as a flaming lion-like creature charged at him, nearly taking off his head had he not ducked in time.
‘What is this... feeling?’ he thought as sidestepped another charge of another one of the lions. ‘Joy? Excitement? Elation?’ he shook his head. ‘No, it’s something else...’ He was snapped out of his thought as one of the white golems landed a hit on his torso, sending sparks flying off of his armor. He hissed in pain as rage boiled inside of him. He clenched his fist and landed a strong his on the jaw, the snapping of bone audible amid the chaos. The golem dissolved into nothing, marking its death.
“Why are they so many of them?!†he shouted in frustration, taking note of the seemingly increasing number of soldiers. “This is going to take forever!â€
Suddenly, a high pitched hum caught his attention, as dozens of missiles shot above him, the Side Basshar’s missile pods now smoking. In a mere seconds the missiles began to rain from above, surrounding Kaixa in a sea of smoke and flames.
“...Never mind.†he said. Although majority of them were decimated within seconds, several of the enemies remained.
“You are aware of the fact that you have weapons, correct?†the voice buzzed in the Kaixa’s helmet.
“What do you mean?†he asked back. Suddenly, the HUD in the armor lit up, outlining a single object near him, the briefcase. Kaixa quickly dashed to the briefcase, opening it up. Although it was night, he could see everything in the container clearly as if it was daytime, especially the gun-like device embedded in the top half of the briefcase.
Kaixa quickly grabbed it and after a millisecond of finding where the trigger was, he aimed and fired, the Kaixa Blaygun firing rapidly. Kaixa has naturally a good marksman and now he assisted by Kaixa’s armor. He fired round after round at his rapidly approaching attackers, some collapsing to the ground with their bodies riddled with bullet holes.
Kaixa looked at the weapon he held in his hands with a minor appraisal. “Hm, not bad. Not bad at all.†He flipped it around, noticing a small slot at the bottom of the weapon. “Wonder what this is for.†he had no time to figure it out as a sudden howl reached his ears. He was too slow to react as he was pounced by another one of the flame-tigers, sending up a flurry of sparks off of his chest plate.
“Get off!†Damon shouted, slamming his fist into the side of the creatures skull. It’s head loudly snapped to the right at an unnatural angle as it fell off it’s chest like a puppet whose strings were severed. Damon quickly pushed the dead creature off of his torso as it’s body dissolved. He quickly stood up and looked around him, ready to fight again. Strangely, there were no more opponents left, all that remained were craters from Side Basshar’s missile attack.
“That’s all of them...†Kaixa sighed. He removed the device from the belt flipped it open. It resembled a black and gold cellphone now that he could see clearly. He quikly examined the key pad.
“How the heck do I get out of this thing?†he asked himself.
