Blargh, I screwed the links up, thanks for letting me know. Although the first one is latest and probably the best I have. But it is effects heavy, since that was what I was experimenting with at the time. It was one of those let's-see-what-I-can-do type things. For the most part I just use fades and overlays. The flashy stuff is fun to try out though, but it all depends on the song and how well it fits in.

So what do you do for a living/school? Obviously something with electronic media or computers in general.

I just graduated from high school and nothing I did in any of my computer classes ever helped me. The best computer class I had was networking, and, that doesn't help at all with this stuff. I just sit down and play with programs learning as I go along.

If you keep at it with video editing programs, it could eventually lead to a good job for you. I never actually graduated from high school, so the list of jobs I could take was...limited for a long while. But video editing has gotten me a few one time jobs in the past few months and the pay isn't that bad if you want to make a carer out of it. But it is the type of thing that you usually have to practice in for years before any major production studios will take you.

For my videos, I usually like fades as the only effect I use. Sometimes I'll add something else, but for the most part I feel that it's pretty much just pointless eye candy unless it helps move the video along.
