Kamen Rider Hibiki - WTF happened?! (Spoilers)

This show isn't a Kamen Rider show at all (and it wasn't supposed to be). The first episode should have told you that, it started off as a musical for christ's sake!

Even though it wasn't a traditional rider show, it is my favorite premise for a Tokusatsu show, but what happened? Honestly, it just went downhill.

They added a douche character who was superfluous (funny thing it's Yuuto from Den-O :laugh: ) and according Wikipedia destroyed characters who were either supposed to have main roles or even just appear. And they killed off Akira's journey to becoming an Oni!

And the Armored Hibiki form was a joke. Not in the matter of looks but what kind of weapon he used. Before he got it the show fostered the mindset where all the Oni used weapons that have musical attributes to them. Then they just scrapped his Taiko drum sticks for a regular run of the mill sword (albeit it had "megaphone" abilities).

This series could have been great. It didn't need the Kamen Rider name attached to it (but if it didn't then more than likely it wouldn't have been viewed by as many people as it has). It disappointed me more than Kabuto because I loved it's premise so much. I mean it had a freakin' hybrid gun/trumpet... which is now my favorite Kamen Rider weapon ever.

Yeah, i suppose a series about a man who dedicates his life to protecting people from monsters while constantly training is not at all about kamen rider, especially since he transforms to fight them :redface2:

If you're going to say Hibiki isn't a Kamen Rider, then you should really be saying that anything from Kuuga onwards isn't either.

And "wasn't supposed to be"? Where do you get that from? Sure the show had it's flaws but to go so far as to retcon it out of existence? Sheesh...Save that for Black RX.

My friend has a saying:
"Just because you don't like it, doesn't mean it isn't canon".

In this case it's:
"Just because you don't like it, doesn't mean it isn't a Rider".

Long and short of it: Stop complaining and watch Blade all over again if you're really that distraught

Agreed on the first point. Nothing pisses me off more when I see people saying that Ryuki or Hibiki aren't Kamen Riders. I hate Hibiki but you damn right he's a Kamen Rider and that's the bottom line.

Now onto ur Black RX comment,

Hibiki a Rider end of story he's heroic and brave to a fault, you have to be pretty badass to be able to kill monsters with music. GIANT monsters even. Heck he even has a motocycle.

If it has 'Kamen Rider' in the title... it's fucking Kamen Rider.
And the same goes to Catwoman unfortunately...
