Sorry this is so late, hope it's okay.
Name: Maiko Aomori
Age: Fifteen
Designation: Member of Team Rider
Quote(s): "Science is the foundation of everything...and ice-cream". "Pleased to meet you, I'm an astrologer-superhero".
Appearance:
History:
Maiko grew up in an ideal environment, her parents loved her and encouraged her but never crossed the rhino line that would have been spoiling her. From very early on they made sure that Maiko knew that there was a big difference between right and wrong, although often the line between the two could become a little blurry. Only being a young child she didn't think to much about what her parents had told her. She knew that stealing another child's toy was wrong, yes, but she didn't actually, truly comprehend what they were trying to tell her. Happy, carefree, well-behaved and a little too curious for her own good, Maiko soon developed an interest in finding out how things worked. When she saw a flower she didn't simply think of it as being pretty and move on, no, she needed to know what sort of flower it was, how it survived and how different weather conditions would impact on it's survival. And so even at the tender age of five, Maiko had the makings of a scientist.
This passion only increased as she grew older. Biology, chemistry, physics, Maiko loved anything that helped her piece together how the world worked. She loved to experiment, to try new things, and often she would set about recruiting others to test her theories. Unfortunately such activities didn't always end to well. But not one to be easily discouraged at all, Maiko was hardly going to let her failures get the best of her. Learning from mistakes was part of her 'work', as she referred to it, after all. Not surprisingly she developed into a bit of a geek as well as a nerd as she grew older. Inspired by the epic adventures that her favorite superheroes would undertake, Maiko would often use her somewhat oversized imagination to pretend that like them, she could save the world. This was how her rather wide array of imaginary friends (and foes) came to be. Due to her love for science she called herself 'Astronomy Woman' and set most of her adventures within the mysterious fields of outer space. She would come up with inventive ways to defeat the villains she created, and then explain them to local aliens who would stare at her with wide-eyed astonishment. Maiko could explain these aliens with science as well, because science was the foundation for absolutely and utterly everything.
Not surprisingly, she was never the most popular kid at school. She sent most of her time with a small group of like minded friends who enjoyed the same sorts of things that she did. She excelled at school, she loved science and mathematics for obvious reasons, and would use the knowledge she gained to power her imaginary adventures, but she also loved reading, writing and art. To be truthful, there wasn't much she didn't like. She even liked playing sports, though admittedly she was never very talented when it came to physical education. Something of an eccentric child, Maiko was completely comfortable with being a little 'weird'. Weird, she soon decided, was good. And so an enthusiastic, intelligent, energetic and strange child, she moved through school without to many hiccups, despite her tendencies to become a little too enthusiastic, or to bombard people with information they don't necessarily need.
