Kamen Rider deserves to have a second chance to air in U.S.

Also, we have anti-4KIDS and anit-Disney stuff because they suck. Do you think they don't? If not, please state why. Because I am confused.

I like Disney for a lot of reasons. But in terms of PR... I like it because they gave the show another chance (8 chances, really). I enjoyed NS, DT, SPD, and RPM. Half isn't bad. They're keeping the series on standby with Remastered instead of just tossing it in the vault forever. And they gave us Gem, oh how I love Gem.

4Kids.... 4Kids I don't really care about either way. I do know they gave Dragon Knight a chance. And when they decided to cancel the show, they had the courtesy to put the remaining episodes on their site. That has to count for something.

I think saying it doesn't "deserve" a chance is a bit harsh. However, i think I have to agree in that we are a minority, so unless an indie group picks it up and sells it to an appropriate vessel we really won't get anything.

However something I noticed this morning that I wanted to bring up...

Some people mentioned that if you made KR more for adults or more serious that it would either flop immediately, or it would be full of dick and fart jokes.

This morning I work up ridiculously early and watched Clone Wars, Ben 10, and a few other of the CN's 'money makers'. And yanno... those are some pretty serious and heavy series. Hell the Ben 10 ep I caught actually made me pretty sad with all that happened. Neither of those two main shows (only calling them out since they're all I can remember right now) had any flat out humor, mainly sarcastic comments. They were pretty mature series. You could argue that Star Wars is already a franchise, but this series targets an audience that did not grow up with the movies like we did and it's still a huge success. Ben 10 didn't begin as a franchise, and yet it was serious from the start. It has occasional silly humor in random eps, but the majority of it's serious and pretty dramatic.

I think people underestimate kids' ability to like a serious show. One of the major problems I had with DK was that it felt like it was trying to be too many things at once. It needs to either be a kids show, a serious kids show, or a grown up show. It felt like it was trying to be all 3 which RARELY works.

Just my opinion but I'm sure a certain person is going to come in behind me on this one and be like "No. It will never work. End. This is fact."

Honestly, as much as i'd like to see a Kamen Rider series come to the US in its original form, i don't see it happening anytime soon. :( Again, like someone said, the audience has changed. It's not the same as it was in 1993. :\

What Toei should really do is subtitle there own R2 DVDs and Bluray for alternate languages (English, Spanish, French, etc, etc.). It really wouldn't cost them much to subtitle the series (Heck, they'd be making more :anime: ) no middleman involved (Like Saban, 4kids, etc. etc.), just straight from Toei. And it's not like Region Free players or the R2 discs are hard to find (Play-Asia.com anyone ? :p), it's just that no one is gonna buy them unless you speak or understand the language. :redface2:

No, I second this. Kids can get humor that isn't really meant for them, or rather there are things for children that can work for teens or adults too. Fairly Odd Parents and Madagascar are examples of this ^^ However, Kamen Rider has not been built like Sentai, even something like Den-O included time travel, Rider needs to be made for either teens or adults. They can try it for kids, but there's less of a chance that it'll work
