Kamen Rider: A New Year, A New Legend (RP)

The Miller's Mansion:

Three Months Ago:

David was sitting at his desk surrounded by his three monitors. David was listening to the news reports about the recent murders where the victims were dismembered. David was typing quickly as he was writing up the instructions on his projects. David was also drawing the scematics and creating a three dimensional image of it. It was hard work as David was typing away like a maniac and the noise could be heard all throughout the hallway. One of the Miller family's house maids then said," Umm Master David are you ok?" David then said," Yes Melinda I am fine please don't call me master anyways this isn't the eighteen hundreds." Then finally David finished and sent the schematics, design, color chart, and instructions to his creation, and three hundred million dollars from his trust fund. David then said," Now we let time move along."

Then a large trailer appeared in front of his mansion and David then walked out to the trailer and said to the driver," So boys is it finished?" The man got out and said," Jeez do you know how tough this was?" David laughed and said," Well for the cost and the good it will do I believe it was worth the hardwork. If i ever need repairs you know I'll call you." Then the large military cases were dropped off in his yard and David and one of the butlers Bruce who was also his dad's bodyguard carriered the two cases to the room. David got them to his room and he said," Holy crap this stuff is heavy." Bruce said," I have the weapons so of course you would be carrying the suit." David turned to Bruce and said," You know not to tell my father right?" Bruce nodded and said," No worries just don't use it on him." David laughed and Bruce left the room. There David stared down at the suit and the weapons and he just couldn't believe it.

Quickly after getting the suit David put it on piece by piece and then he looked at the weapons and he said," Night sticks, Chain saw, and a gun along with a grenade attachment. Whatever monster is doing this to people I'm sure to be able to stop them." David removed the armor and then putting all the items back he put them into his closet and began watching T.V. as he had his police radio turned on.

If your reading this journal, then that means I'm either dead...I've been caught by my pursuers...you probably have no idea what I'm talking about so allow me to go back to the beginning

Five months prior:
Shyun's car stopped at the more run down suburban part of New York City "This is the place" He says, the address on the sheet of paper he was holding matched that of the address he was starring at. Shyun takes in a deep breath "Well...here goes" He says

I received an anyomonous regarding my friend's murder. It sounded like a set up to me but...I was out of leads
Shyun ascends the long fight of stairs, eventually coming to apartment room number 38

I entered the apartment room...and what I saw made my blood run cold. The wall was covered with writing, things like "The end is near" or "Trust no one!"...could whomever given me the tip also have lived here? Whatever the case I decided to look for clues the room was pitch dark, the windows were boarded up and anything that had a reflective surface was either tapped up, covered up, or smashed up...guess this guy has major self esteem issues or something...that was my initial thought

Shyun moves around the room, searching for anything that may hint to his friend's killer. Eventually, he gives up and turns to leave. He stands up and his foot kicks a black tablet across the room. Shyun sees this black tablet and picks it up "What's this...?" Shyun says

Inside the apartment, I found this strange deck with cards that looked like something out of an anime card game...Inside there was a blank card

"Contract card? What is this?" As Shyun picked it up, an intense ringing could be heard in his head. He drops his flashlight, and a man would appear in the shattered glass "Fight! Fight...Fight so that you may survive! Only then shall your wish be granted" Was what he said before disappearing.

Following that...my life begins to take a turn for the crazy...

Rose's house
"I'm home!" Rose shouts taking off her slippers and walking into the room "Ah...Rose-chan!" An old woman waddled out of the room and began to cough "Grandma! You shouldn't be up!" Rose says, she quickly walked towards her placing her hands on her. "I'm fine!" Grandma said stubbornly She looks at her and smiles "You're looking more and more like your mother every day Rose-chan" She says Rose blinks "Eh? Why are you suddenly..." Grandmother then gave Rose a key "What's this?" She asks

"I have something to give you...something I was saving for when the time was right...and I think the time is right." Grandma says "Head into my room...in my closest behind a false wall there's a safe...open it." Grandma says.

Rose looked at her oddly and nodded she walked upstairs and found the safe, putting the key into the safe she opens it and inside she finds a belt...nothing special about it...just a Belt with the word ZECT on the back "Grandma...what is this?" Rose asks showing her the strange belt "Something left over from your father's time...you'll know what it's purpose is when the time comes...for now hold onto that...you'll be needing it soon" Grandma says. Rose nods "Alright..." She says Grandma smiles "YOu must be hungry, come! Come! Let's eat..." She says

Rose nods, and helps her grandmother into the kitchen.

Nikolai smirked as he watched the slightly inebriated Jimon storm off.

"I disagree, difference is, I'm smart enough not to do that for a living..."

He glances over, and all over, at Nanase.

"-and I have far more than eight points on contact when going up against the right opponent...heheh."

"Hey, you.."

Nikolai turned towards Hikaru, chin up, practically inviting him to take a swing for his comment before he noticed Nanase pulling Hikaru aside. He overheard bits and pieces of their conversation before shaking his head as they took off.

"Damn orientals...they all look alike and are all extremely paranoid. Must be all that rice...even their booze is made of rice...they should switch to potato sometime...can make many things with potato...like...VODKA!"

With that Nikolai slams his hand on the counter, gets his drink, downs it in a single gulp and causally starts to walk out of the bar before noticing a report on TV about the increase in murders.

"Police are baffled as many of these so called "impossible murders" are living up to their names as the varying methods of execution are, to put it simply enough, impossible-"

"Heh, it's New York City, honestly, what's the big deal?"

As the blonde journeyed through Rockefeller Center, he spotted a bunch of girls passing him by, laughing and having a good time. He whistled and tilted his hat upwards as they turned the corner, and he smirked a little. It was a bit chilly for him, being in a city near a river. A dirty...polluted river. Cecil had stuff to write, not tour the city. He was on a research hunt, a hunt for a scoop. And the biggest one would be to find the cause of the murders. He can smell the money flowing, and he chuckled to himself. "It's not a problem finding a good scoop. This is the world famous New York City of America. I'm sure I'll find something here."

As he passed by an alley way, he heard footsteps. His eyes blinked, and Cecil looked at the alleyway one more time. Signs of life; perfect. "And here is where I begin," he smirked and started to trail the sound.

New York City, Starbucks Coffee Cafe

A young man, old enough to be a college student, with dirty blond hair that is likely not natural, sitting at the cafe table inside, with his Starbucks coffee sitting on the table while he adjusts the lens on his camera.

"Find a scoop. That's all I need to do. What am I? Peter Parker? Least I'm not the movie Peter Parker." Stephen remarked to himself as he finishes adjusting his camera. "Not like anything else happens in this city. Save for a few car crashes. But that's nothing new." Stephen finishes his coffee and tosses the cup into trash bin. He picks up his bag and leaves the cafe.

Following her meal, Rose's Grandmother had a few errands for her to run. Nothing major, just a few necessities they were running low on, and thus Rose set out into the cold to hunt down the items that were on the list. Once finished she notices the Starbucks across the street

Hmmmm...I really could go for a green tea latte right now...awe what the hell She thinks and waits at the light. When the light changes colour, she crosses the street and into the Starbucks...only she didn't notice Stephen walking out of the door and ends up knocking into him "A-Ahh!" She cries as she was knocked back, causing her to drop the paper bag onto the ground, dropping fruit and vegetables all over the place "Oh no! The groceries!" Rose cries, she picks up each apple, and each orange and inspects them carefully she blows on them and rubs them with her sleeve "I think you'll be fine." She mutters placing them carefully back into the bag.

"This entire relationship is only so because of your inability to commit! I've waited my entire life for someone like you, and yet you carelessly throw everything that we've been through out the window and let it flow in the wind. What am I to you?! Is it because you're bored? Is it because I could be rebound from some idiot that broke you unsympathetic heart?"

"Cale it's not that-"

"Well then whenever you figure it out, call me, and pray that I haven't changed my number."

He whisked away to the front door, hand gripping hard on the golden door knob that would let him out. It took all the willpower that he held within his heart not to look back over his shoulder to see the very girl of his dreams. His insecurities about the break up shot at him like an archer shooting a bow, but much like a medieval knight, he brought up his towering shield to block the attacks. His mind was made up, and for the first time in twenty three years, he was sure of something. Turning the golden object held within his hand, he pulled the door open quickly and left, never ever to look back.

"And that's a wrap." Said the director clapping in triumph. Ben walked back through the fake door and gave a ritualistic bow, which was something that he had done after each one of movies had wrapped. Smiling, Ben clapped with the rest of the cast and crew of 10 Weeks of Autumn. This was truly one of his better performances, and he hopped that this year at Sundance he would get the recognition that he thought he deserved, if not that was ok too.

New York City, Four blocks from Madison Square Garden.

“What an amazing concert Anty!†Sitting across the room from the voice was a Mr. Antonio Rodrigo Sanchez, a celebrated and beloved Matador(mostly by the ladies). A low, dirty look was cast from the under the messy brown curls as he frowned at his fiance and raised his hands into the air. “Anty? Baby, come on, It's Antonio! You make me sound like I'm a bug or something.†He noted Gracia's little smile and the roll of her eyes before she reached down behind the couch and pulled out a small box, wrapped in red wrapping paper and a silly pink bow on the top. He cast a baffled look for a moment before he relaxed on the couch, watching her saunter across the room and drop down on the couch beside him. He shot her another dirty look as she roughly shoved his left foot off the top of his right knee and drop the box in his lap.

A small “oompf†left his lips as it landed a little hard in his lap and he looked at her, unwrapping it quickly, like any good man does, shredding the paper and opening the box. Inside it, sitting neatly was a belt, a few symbols on either side of the belt that frankly, puzzled him. He looked down at the belt again and carefully set it in the box and looked to Gracia and raised his left eyebrow slowly. “A belt...you got me..a belt?†was the thought that rolled through his head, but when he started to say it, he looked into Gracia's eyes and saw how proud of herself she was and instead, he wetted his lips and cast a big smile at her. “I love it! It's fantastic!â€

“Tell ya what, lemme run across the hall to grab something for you, and I'll be right back.â€
He reached down and whatever reason, decided to carry the box with the belt in it. Giving Gracia a kiss on the forehead, he smiled a little as he stood up and collected his keys from the table by the door and saluted using his first two fingers and flashed a wink. The sounds of his boots thumping heel first against the floor didn't go un-noticed by him, but to be honest, he didn't care that much about the noise either. He slipped through the open door and quietly closed it behind him with one hand. As Antonio pressed forward again, he moved the grey-ish belt to rest over his shoulder as he unlocked the door across the hall and slipped inside.

He had to close his eyes and hold them shut for a moment as he flicked on the lights, the sudden burst hurt his eyes, lord knows why, but bright lights suddenly coming on always bothered him. It took him a minute, from his counting for him to remember where everything was and then in several long strides, he crossed the room to the corner, where a few boxes from various shopping sprees had been set. Like a busy worker ant, he started to go through the boxes until he found what he was looking for. Instead was a dazzling necklace, silver in color and had various cuts, shapes and sizes of rubies and aquamarine stones laid into it. “A-HA! Much better looking than this crummy belt. She'll love this, I should know, I picked it out.†He smiled slowly to himself as he sat the necklace down on top of the box and held the belt close to his face with his hands.

He ran his smooth fingers across it, across the small, black looking orb in the middle and the strange runes on each side of it. He'd have to put the belt on to show her later how silly he looked with it around it his waist, but whatever. He put the belt back over his shoulder and put the necklace back into the small box and turned around. Several long steps later he was out the door and pulled on the door knob until he heard it click closed. His eyes narrowed for a second as he looked at the hotel room him and Gracia had. He swore it was closed, so, he did the first that came natural. He stood beside the frame of the door and pushed it open slowly and waited a second before stepping inside.

“Hey Babe, I'm back? Where did you g-†He stopped talking when he noticed the that the TV was smashed and the windows leading to the balcony were shattered. Setting the box down down and pulling the belt off his shoulder, he felt his fingers wrap tightly around one of the far ends, in case he had to use it for a weapon. He moved slowly across the room until he pushed open the door the bed room. He noticed first the condition of the room, it was torn almost literally to shreds, the second was the blood. Splattered every where, across each wall and all over the bed. He noticed first Gracia's mangled and dismembered arm and he did the second that came natural.

He pressed on forward, deep down, in the pit of his stomach, among the knots he knew the outcome, but he had to check, part of him hoped she was alive, and he moved quickly, clambering across the bed, ignoring the blood as it soaked into his dark pants and stained his white shirt. When he got to her, what was left of her, what he could see, it wasn't a pretty scene and he did the third thing that came natural when he heard some kind of noise coming from a different part of the hotel room.

He ran. He didn't know how quickly he moved, but he knew it was fast, and by the time he was at the door he had to adjust his body quickly as his feet slipped on the carpet in the vast hallways before he regained his footing and took off. He knew that everybody would want to know why he ran, and why he found himself tightly holding onto the belt she bought for him, but he'd never be able to answer, or why he was covered in blood. Most of his white shirt was stained red as he ran into the elevator and slapped the button for the ground floor. Luckily for him, nobody wanted to use it and when it hit the ground floor and the moment the doors were parted enough he was gone again.

By the time he reached the large glass double doors of the hotel, he spotted the Police Officer, so he lowered his shoulder when he saw him turning his direction and his eyes went wide. By the time the man had his hand on his gun, Antonio's shoulder was buried into his chest and sent him back first into the double doors, exploding the glass and sending people scattering like roaches. He quickly scrambled to his feet and turned to the left and took off running as fast as he could in his boots. He didn't have time to ponder the amusement of running down NYC, bloody, strange belt in hand and dressed in a matador outfit.

He grabbed the sign post on the corner with his free hand and used it to swing himself around and keep his forward movement going. Dodging people caused him to slow a little bit, but not once did he look behind him, nor did he care about his wild eyed look of sheer panic. He roughly shoved some older gentlemen to the side and found his feet leaving the ground, leaping over the railing to the Starbucks not far away from his hotel. His feet hit the ground with a loud thump and he bolted forward quickly, shifting the strange belt he held to his other hand as he extended his now free hand and shoved the girl with the sack of various items from the market roughly out of his way. “MOVE! Get the hell out of my way!â€

With a degree of grace as he quickly moved, he used his free hand to brace against the railing and in one swift movement, leap over it, his body twisting to the side as he cleared it and hit the ground running, this time into the middle of traffic, straight towards Madison Square Garden, now only a few blocks away. When he had time to think on this very moment later, he'd make sure to make a prayer, because God had to be watching out for him as he ran blindly through the middle of traffic, barely missing the cars as they blared horns in some cases, slammed on the brakes in others. By the time he reached Madison Square Garden, he was ignoring the signs of fatigue in his lungs from a full out spring and when he made a wide turn towards an alley way, he somehow missed the man in the coat and the business like attire and rather roughly slammed into him from behind and hit the ground with a grunt of pain and the belt he had gripped tightly skittered across the ground, much to his dismay of course.

"Nanase, do you..?"

"No, he isn't one of.. "

"Has to be something else then, but what..?"

Anyone listening to their conversation would only catch snippets of it, as the two quickly walk after Jimon and his pursuer. Hikaru's brow furrows a little at her negative reply, and is deep in thought by the noise of someone running behind him, until something slams into his back and sends him stumbling forward. The woman at his side lets go of his arm and steps away to avoid the collision, her eyes widening at the sight of the blood covered man. Before Hikaru can hit the ground face first he throws his right side outward, hitting the ground with a roll and coming back up to face whatever hit him, with fists raised and clear anger in his eyes.

"I think you had better explain yourself. If you even twitch the wrong way, I'll let you have it.."

He keeps eyes focused on the man laying on the ground desperately trying to catch his breath, the stranger's bloodstained white shirt making him give off a low whistle. His left hand darts into his coat and emerges with a handgun, training the heavy Colt M1911A1 on the suspect. The motion of opening his coat causes the light to glint off a police badge, though it's doubtful Antonio could read it in his current situation.

The object that went skittering across the ground is quickly intercepted by Nanase, who steps back over toward Hikaru with it.

"This is what he dropped.."

Kuuga's Arcle!

Everything seems to click into place, and Hikaru takes the belt and examines it briefly, but quickly looks back to the man on the ground.

"You..who did you kill to get this?"

He leans forward and delivers a 'light' kick to the ribs, encouraging him to answer the question. He draws the foot back, as if hinting he'll kick again harder if the dark skinned man with the blood covering him doesn't comply.

There are too many things going on tonight for it to be coincidence. Kuuga's belt, and if that UFO is what I think it is..what's going on here?

Mark grabbed his faux-leather jacket and punched out - although "punching out" at Mr. Feynman's bookstore actually just consisted of writing down your name and the time you left in a notebook; time clocks are expensive, and the store has never made too much money, so Mr. Feynman decided to go low-tech. Mark grabbed his copy of Accidents and Lies: What Really Happaned in Akebono City and slipped it into his jacket pocket. He waved goodbye to Mr. Feynman on his way out, buttoning up his jacket against the cold, and stepped out to the street.

The cold bit into Mark's face; he hated this time of year, mostly because he hated walking around in the bitter cold. I swear to God, New York City winters must be some of the worst on Earth, he thought to himself. He watched his breath rise in front of his face, a whole universe of miniscule ice crystals born and dead within a moment. He looked at the other people around him, going about their business, wrapped up in a similar way to Mark himself. He wondered, as he often did, what their lives were like; what they themselves were like. He also wondered, idly, if everyone wondered about this when they walked down the street, or if everyone else was too wrapped up in their own lives to care.

Mark felt something vibrate in his pocket and jumped in surprise, then realized it was his phone - the same process he always went through since he'd received a smartphone for his birthday a month ago. Reaching into his pocket, Mark pulled out his phone and saw that he had a text message, but when he opened the message, it wasn't from anyone he knew; the name appeared to be just a string of random numbers and letters.

You want to know about Akebono?
I can tell you.
Come see me.

At the bottom of the message was an address.

The first thing Mark noticed was that the spelling, grammar and punctuation in the message were all fine - something you don't usually see with texts. After that fleeting observation crossed his mind, he realized what the message was actually saying, and his eyes went wide. He felt a sudden weight in his stomach, like he'd just swallowed one of those steel balls that they used to put on old-timey barbells. Who sent this? How did they know he was interested in Akebono City? How did they know his cell phone number, or even who he was? For most of his life, Mark had been little more than a blip on any radars, and probably not even that on most...so where did this sudden message come from? It had to be a joke, but he felt an inexplicable certainty that it wasn't.

And he was afraid.

This was the kind of thing that didn't happen to people in real life. He'd suddenly become a character in a Robert Ludlum novel...or worse, a J-horror movie. He was going to go to that address, it'd turn out to be an abandoned bowling alley or something, and in the middle of the floor would be a cell phone. It would ring, he would answer it, and some creepy little girl with hair falling over her face would show up and kill him.

Okay, don't be ridiculous, he thought. I doubt it's anything like that.

Still, the fear wasn't going away. But underneath it was something else: an insatiable curiosity. The same curiosity that he'd felt his whole life, about practically everything; the same curiosity that drove him to take apart his parents' VCR when he was 7, just to see what was in it. The same curiosity that made him study Tae Kwon Do for a year. The same curiosity that itched in the back of his brain about quantum mechanics until he finally read a Michio Kaku book, and realized once he was done with it that he still didn't understand.

And he knew - deep in his heart of hearts, he absolutely knew - that he was going to go that address, if only to find out who sent it.

He also knew it was going to prove an incredibly stupid thing to do.

Heaving out a sigh, Mark looked around to get his bearings, then headed towards the address in the message...and, he was sure, towards trouble.
