kakuranger vs Hurricanger

As for the Kaku vs Hurri thing, the fact that I haven't seen Kaku kinda lets me off the hook of having to choose.

I'm the same as you, but it seems like the Kaku team was a MUCH better one. Funny how exactly the reverse is true in PR. The NS team did actual ninja ****, while the PRS3 team just skipped the cool-ass ninja outfits and hopped right into the same old Zyuranger suits. >_<

No, they had awesome ninja outfits after the movie came out, they just didn't wear them all the time. And the masks were a little too KKK looking.

No, by skipped I meant, "refused to use". I liked the costumes. But they rarely used them, and more than that they almost never used their ninja techs.

......KKK looking....?

They used them in almost every episode, before they fully Morphed into the Ranger costumes.

And yeah, they have the spooky cult-member eyeholes instead of the traditional ninja facemask.

Perhaps at first glance it's obvious to compare Kakuranger with Hurricanger, but these are actually two very different series:
Kakuranger is purely inspired by the ninja theme.
Hurricanger on the other hand is a show that takes a lot of elements from Kabuki theater. Of course, there are some ninja elements in it too (just like we find ninja/samurai references in Kabuki theater), but I always felt that Hurricanger was first and foremost a Kabuki-themed sentai.

As such, I have to put both shows on equal foot, considering they are different shows with different premises, each one being good at what they try to be or try to reflect.

I had a great time with the Hurricanger, but asside from the Goraigers, none of them stuck me as especially badass.

Kakurangers had several bad motherfuckers on their team.
