Just wanted to get a few things off my chest..

Pfft. You think Mars springs for the good stuff?

I'd like to add, most guys tend not to want to hear it. Giving it its own thread is also a matter of politeness. Men will know not to go there and end up seeing stuff they don't want to be seeing.

With online forums, do you really think people are going to avoid something that says "GIRLS ONLY"?

I don't see how it creates "division within the member base" as you put it. How many times have the girls seen something on here that they didn't want to see. Want an example, how many times have Forever Knight said he wants to drink some actress's bathwater or have them take a dump on his chest. Hell I'm a guy and I don't want to read that, but it's there it is for the world to see. And nobody gives him any crap, no pun intended, about it.

What is, Things I need the other guys around here to do, for 500.

LOL!

Well as long as it's on a public forum, you're going to run into people who say things you don't want to hear, so if you don't want that and want your conversations to be exclusive, I just think it'd be better to trade IM handles or talk about junk in PMs. I...don't really see how it's discrimination at all because I'm not saying you have to do it because I don't like girls only threads, I'm saying it's a bad idea because it creates another division within the member base and because it just doesn't make sense to put things out there on a public forum when you only want certain people to respond to them.

Heck, we have user groups here and those are as close to clubs as you can get with the forum software. Whoever creates the usergroup can grant or deny membership to people based on their requirements, they can make posts public and keep them hidden as well. If you want to create a form of selective discussion, that'd be much better than a thread out in the open where, despite what you want, people you don't want there are going to reply.

Why should we have to go through all that trouble when all we're wanting is ONE DAMN THREAD?

You guys do realize you're making this big drama over ONE thread among thousands of other threads on here?

Knowing the guys of this forum, once they get bored with the hooplah over our thread they'll leave us alone. It doesn't create any kind of "division" because it is literally one thread, in the random section, allowing us to discuss girl stuff with girls only.

Wouldn't any specific discussion thread create division? Fillipino for example; "Boo hoo I'm not Fillipino! Why isn't there a thread for English speakers?!"

You guys just need to see how absolutely ridiculous all of this is. And you need to see how ridiculous it is to ask us to go through a lot of trouble to do something that one thread among thousands can accomplish. Our thread isn't an eyesore, it's not something you have to go out of your way to avoid, it doesn't inconvenience you, so just leave it be!

It really can all be said about threads where spoilers are forbidden from being posted. If people don't want spoilers, why not just avoid any and all threads involving that show? We've divided the member base there between people wanting to even discuss rumors and spoilers, and the people who don't. There's specialized discussions all over the forum with rules as such. This one we're only asking for guys to not chime in on our discussions.

*gags*

What does it mean that I find talking about poop more interesting than all this inane arguing about one single solitary thread that nobody even cares about?

As I said earlier, we do have user/social groups here. It's part of the vB forum software. All you have to do is click this, fill out the required fields, and set the membership to moderated (you have to approve the membership) or invite only. If you absolutely must have a form of discussion where you don't want a select group of members to be a part of, then use that. It's private and just works better.

Because people end up complaining about it, either the guys or the girl, someone will complain about it and when it's out in public like that, people are going to feel left out. Heck, the most recent posts in that Girls Only thread are a prime example of why I think they're a bad idea. Someone, yes, a guy, replied, but he wasn't being a dick in his post and all he got was the door, metaphorically speaking.

You guys do realize you're making this big drama over ONE thread among thousands of other threads on here?
Because you're doing the exact same thing. I'm going to go back and point out that post that Aoiblue made, whether your replies were in jest or not, that isn't the sort of thing I think should be allowed in a public capacity.

Wouldn't any specific discussion thread create division? Fillipino for example; "Boo hoo I'm not Fillipino! Why isn't there a thread for English speakers?!"
Key difference with those threads is that anyone can post in them, you don't want males posting in that thread.

Because, for the most part, people are smart enough to use the [/hide] tags and hide spoilers.

YOU are the one who doesn't want males replying to that thread, as long as it's out in public, it's going to happen. The only you're going to get a discussion out of these requirements you want is by creating a social group. It's not your place to tell people where they can and cannot post.

You discriminatory posting standards (and I am not using that term in a negative manner), you simply cannot get that in public.

Yes. It's public and both parties are responsible for what happens there.

FangireQueen, it's public. The Filipino thread people didn't say "You're not Filipino, so get out now." The same goes with the Canadian HJU thread. They were quite nice and they gave me some good advice. I don't see why people like Kenori can't go in there if they want to be there so bad. If someone starts trolling you there, just report the post and move forward with your conversation.

Or the guys can get the stick out of their ass and let the girls have their thread, just saying.

There is a thread yeah, but it's not "their thread". I am not saying this because I don't think they should have it. I am saying it because it's a public and open thread on HJU. So even if ONLY the girls post to it, it's going to be read by everyone.
