Why are you going to talk about things like that (kay, mostly the periods)on a public forum? If you only want certain people to chime it, I'd say it's better off in IM conversations or PM messages. Regardless of males contributing to the topic, it's there for everyone, member or not, to read.
Girls are open about girl stuff with other girls. And usually it's not a caring if someone READS what we have to say, it's the chiming in that can make some girls feel uncomfortable.
Also wouldn't asking us to take our conversations off of the forum be a way of discrimination worse than telling guys to not participate in our thread?
We've said numerous times that we don't care who reads it, but we want the discussion of such topics left to women alone. That's largely so we don't have to deal with the comments from the males.
You always have such great responses
That is false. However, our poop does smell of honeyed caramel and is in fact packaged and sold for use in high-quality sweets in small monarchical European nations.
Haha you rock!
Well, my personal feelings about threads of that nature aside, I think it's just, for lack of a better word, weird. I can understand wanting to converse with only women on certain subjects, but...I dunno, something as personal as a period isn't something I can imagine people would want out there. Sure, perhaps guys won't reply to those posts, but they're up there for everyone to see. So I guess I just think people should keep the really personal stuff to themselves unless they're that open about it all.
Periods really aren't that personal among girls. Hell girls that have known each other for 10 minutes can say to each other "God my flow is so heavy and I feel like hell!" and we don't care, nor do we care who heard it. However I don't think any girl wants a guy coming up and actually REPLYING to that.
Again, no one cares who reads our discussions, it's the chiming in that's the problem.
EDIT: To add in some more examples. I was recently discussing my issue with having skanky costumes at my work being all I can choose from to wear there. That is something that while I don't care who knows; the male responses to that would make me feel very uncomfortable and/or mad. It's nice to discuss it in a place with other girls who also share my interests
Not to mention, after a while barely any guys will touch the thread and we'll maybe even discuss more personal stuff because no one will care. The only reason anyone is bothering with our thread right now is because some people got butthurt over it.
I still find it pretty mean to suggest that we should essentially not even discuss girl things on the forum. We, the females, simply choose to not participate in many conversations (and hell many are offended by FK), but do we bitch and tell them they should move those comments off the forum? No. We act like grown ups and move on. At least we've designated a space for such discussions so that it's not open to everyone and it's our own chat.
It's not a big damn deal, it's not a grand mystery, it's not weird, it's not a damn Rubik's cube. We girls want a place to talk without guys chiming in and putting in their two cents. Plain and simple. Why is this so confusing?
EDIT #2: So in short, how you guys feel are, that while we give you respect to say whatever guy stuff you want on the forums... we, as it's being made to seem, are not allowed the same respect. This is how your "point" is coming across
